The power of INTENTION (pg. 4)

You don't understand....

Lets say a glass falls and breaks on the floor.

By itself - the glass breaking is just an event, something that has happened.

What makes it "good" or "bad" is one's interpretation (self-communication) with respect to the event.

Interpretation of events is what drives emotional response. Change the interpretation - change the emotion.

And don't reply: "Some can't interpret". That's pretty weak.

I understand what you're getting at and that may be true for a lot of people but in my case something like a glass dropping might make me feel like for the rest of the day.

I just want this to hit page 2 so that I don't have to stop my music and turn the volume down every time I enter this thread.

If you're satisfied with that outcome, congratulations. I hope things stay the same.

If you're not satisfied with that outcome, unfortunate. I hope things change.

Of course I'm not but it's something beyond my control unfortunately. I love the things I have both material and not and I appreciate them day in and day out and consider myself blessed for having family and friends, a roof over my head, clean clothes, food, healthy, etc. but happyness is rare.

Man, I hope there is some therapy/drugs that will eventually balance you inside so you can stop the therapy/drugs (sorry--don't know if you take either but I know some people who have ADD and OCD and take medicine for it)

Drugs are a last resort for me, unless I absolutely have to take them I want to work things out naturaly. I just recently heard that a lot of kids have become suicidal on antidepressants (who would have thought) and I'm not suicidal now nor do I plan to be. I put myself into therapy months ago, it's a slow process but it really does help if you go into it with open arms like I did.

I hope we here at TOTA can also hopefully act as a form of therapy for you...of course we're not professionals but the music and the vibe should help (I hope!)

EDIT:
By the way, I always thought that was a pretty cool quote in your sig, kind of trippy, but now after hearing about your perspective on life I feel like there might be something more to it...care to share? :)
