Broken Sennheisers?

Hey yo. I have a pair of Sennheiser SD25's and I havent really used them for a while due to work commitments etc etc. I got some new vinyl today and got the Sennys out to listen to the new tunes, and lo and behold the left hand side bin is making a horrible humming noise as soon as the mixer is turned on, quite loud it is too. There doesnt need to be any tune playing for this to happen, its just a constant hum...

Anyone got any ideas what is wrong with them, and more importantly how I can fix the problem? They have barely been used for months, so its not like its wear and tear, and they have been stored away safely so its not like they have been mistreated. Any input would be appreciated, cheers.

i would bet its the mixer's fault.
try connecting the senneheiser to something else, the pc for instance and see if they make the same hum.

+1

do your speakers also hum or is it just the phones? my left phono input is starting to grow some grey hairs and it hums pretty bad... to fix i just wiggle the connection some till it stops ...

if this is the same for you just check your connections, make sure theyre clean, and if it seems like they need to be held up to stop humming or something just find something to fix it like use tape to hold it up or something...whatever works

somethimes it helps to swap the cables
