In record shops that don't have 100 different sub-sections for dance music they will be in the 'Hard Trance' section.
The term 'Hard Dance' is becoming more widely used, but it's mean't as a collective term for all harder styles of dance music.

| Proteus is a damn hard DJ. As for producers I would say that Mark Norman, Sam Sharp, and Ron van den Beuken have hard edges to them but keep melody in mind ;) Top producers IMO. |

lol he used ayla and atb back in the late 90s for the awake album and maybe something else but thats it :rolleyes:
the times ive gone to see him at clubs since the late 90s he plays nothing but hard and epic trance.He even made the the cd that got me into hard trance "release AM edition"
all the good hard trance DJs have already been mentioned, my faves being Wag,Scot Project,Kai Tracid, DuMonde, K90,ASYS
Ferry drops some hard tunes at times but I woudnt put in this list |

I'm quite a fan of BK, Sentience and Reynolds, and whilst they are FASTER than Scot Project, stuff like his remixes of Arome - Hand's Up and Yoji Biomehanika - Ding A Ling are far harder than most of their stuff imo |

Hardtrance is one of the sub-genre that is so damn hard to diffrenshape. It can be releated to Hardhouse, HardNRG (Hard-Dance), Hardstyle or even Happy Hardcore. Examples....

all the hard house producers you mentioned are Hard Trance.
around 2000 they all started mixing the trance melodies of 1999 with the new hard house beats, one of the first Hard Trance tracks was Equinox - Immure. |

He tore down the place. I am really still amazed. And with that he played Derb - DFC (Scot Project rmx) and that is one awesome track. If I can get my hands on that vinyl I will put it under my pillow every night so I can sleep comfortable :toothless |
