Seeking Reviewers. (pg. 2)

Well first i'd like to read a "sample" to get an idea of your writing skills. We have to have some standard and i'm sure you can tell that our reviews are a bit more extensive then some other reviews on other websites. You can go to the website, sign up, and post a sample review in the forums.

After that you can post reviews and they'll be accepted by Sykonee (lead writer) and published on the site.

In the mean time, if anyone knows someone who might be interested in writing reviews just please send them to this thread. Much apprciated.

I suppose I should let folks know what I'm after:

- No capsule reviews. If people wanted that, they could go to Amazon.com. We are after something more lengthy and detailed. Mini-essays, so to speak.

- Wit. A mini-essay can be very boring to read if it doesn't engage the reader.

- Music knowledge. It isn't enough to just be a fan of one particular style of music to write about it. You should also know the history of that field of music, and influences drawn from other forms of music. After all, the last thing I'd want to do is point out a melody a review finds original is actually a sample from something ages ago.

ooo ooo i can!

I owe my acceptance into college on my writing skills. Had it not been for the wicked application essay i wrote, my "1.7 GPA" ass would have been rejected. And unless I really put effort into other assignments, essays and writing projects are the only thing i can get A's on. Yes, I am still in High School (in case you were wondering.)

That previous remixes of the tune were already released before is not that important. This song is a great one. So it's always going to sell. Can't be mad at Nettwerk for wanting to make many off of it. Let me put it this way: If Nettwerk released another compilation with remixes by DJ Sammy, DJ Mystik, Scooter and DJ Venom, among others, I'd be the first to buy it. That's just how good this tune is.

Plus, this compilation would be a good buy for any person who doesn't already have all those versions.

Good luck with the site.

Well, you could always buy the 2000 release which has the best versions on the track. I wouldn't be so cynical if all the new mixes were full length.

Of course, the beauty of writing for a site is you have your own soapbox to state your opinions, and you have the freedom to review what you want. And if you aren't confident of your writing, send us a review because you could be wrong about yourself.

and system-j, regarding your review of silence, listen to the full fade remix of the silence, the butcheration of the full remix into an edit was very unnecessary, and yes, it's a laidback progressive trance remix and also in my opinion the best version bar the original, sure tiesto's remix is a good epic take on it, but it doesn't beat the beauty of the fade remix.

Well I haven't heard the full Fade mix, and the edit didn't impress. It isn't really fair to review something based on a version not on the record in question, though.

My writing is decent.

Time is an issue though, specially right now with the end of the school year.

Well if your interested, then by all means send a sample review to me & Sykonee when you have the time. You might also might want to go to the homepage and sign up, so you could post reviews of course.

You can just post them to the forums like Blue. has done.

We respect your views and your opinion, thats the beauty of something like music, despite what anyone says about a particular song, you can still draw your own opinion about it.

Now all we need are the reasons why you feel the way you do.

Yes I know how you feel. Most of my staff are stuck with exams like myself. However, once we get through this "dry" stage, I really think that the site is going to blow up this summer with everyone having a bit of extra free time. However, we shall see. In the 4 short months that the site has been online we've made considerable progress, i'm crossing my fingers to not only have progress continue, but go faster.

Well once your exams are finished and you think your up to it, try to drop us a line and see what kind of reviews you can churn up. As always, we're always looking for more qualified reviewers.
