The Sound of Your Town?

Just out of interest, what form of music is most predominant in the clubs around your area?

I'm not talking about the pop/r'n'b/commercial/retro clubs (god knows they're everywhere  ), I'm talking about the real clubs. What's coming out of their speakers? Is there any sound that seems more common than any other?

From a Melbourne perspective, we've got a well-entrenched house scene (goes way back to the early 90's) and we've got a very definate underground scene (mainly progressive music) emerging as well.

So what about your neck of the woods?

in my town, Bergen in norway they play a lot of trance in fact :) There's a club called Exodus that only plays trance. It's great, but usually the Exodus is overcrowded.

Dj Otzi ..i cant belive this IDIOT has such an enormous success all over europe, thank us the austrians who managed to spread infantil music like that.
I remember when he was the star of the "underground" in austria,,those were days...hits like "anton aus tirol" and the super-intelligent "heeeeyyy babyy"

I think I went there when I was in Bergen! :p :D :)

My town is the home of Slinky so it's Hard House/Hard Trance. But we're a seaside town so there are a lot of touristy places, as well as cheesy clubs and a couple of large clubs that play really commerical dance music.

Cool, did you like the club?

Nottingham, home to Renaissance @ Media, residents are (fortnightly, monthly, i loose track!) Carl Cox, Deep Dish & Dave Seaman. Big names but music is deep & progressive house mainly. Dave Seaman can play some trancey stuff sometimes though. All the other clubs r total bollox, like Hotdog @ the lost weekend, hard house e there. Nottingham is one of the house capitals of the UK, unfornately.
