I had a gig before at System soundbar and I must say that compared to that one, this night was WAY better, DJing-wise for me and crowd-wise.
Thanks so much to every1 who came out to support us spinning the night away. It's always a great time when TAs get together.
I hope my set was as good as I think it was.... any feedback??? I know most of you got there later, but do tell from what you heard!!!
thanks again,

And Jen(one "N" or two?) you really have to stop being such a goddamn sweetheart...I really appreciate your note about my friend...
@Cam, dude...bring Lisa out. |
it is in fact 2 N's to my name and good good... glad you have started the vacal trance project already..:D
Even though I won't be around for most of the process... I am counting on you to be successful.... LOL ;)
You just can't go wrong with the Ridgewalkers!
Hell... I love ya man.. you and Jenny rock.. and if you need ANY help with getting a cd made for Jenny (not that you would) I would be MORE than willing to help you out! Anything to see her out more with us... :D |

| I should have came... I'm really regretting it now. I couldn't because I had to write the bloody Canadian Computing Competition national final on Friday morning. The good news is that I won a gold medal, so perhaps it was worth it. It's too bad though... sounds like it was an awesome party. I suppose there will be others... |

I ENJOYED READING THIS THREAD VERY MUCH!!!! THANK YOU!!!
I was not at the vault last thursday (never actually) but what was being described/commented on -
reminds me of when a couple of buddies of mine starting throwing parties back in early 2000/2001 in Kingston at the Box, the SHOT, Italian Club.....etc - we brought in a few big names.....PETER and TYRONE, MARK SCAIFE, HATIRAS, DJ HEATHER and my fave at the time MAX GRAHAM (pre-global domination....gatecrasher residency).
The people there were a very rock/alternative type UNIVERSITY crowd at STAGES/AJ's - so these parties introduced a whole other world of partying.....I am sure the introduction of E to Kingston had something to do with it (real MDMA) - but nonetheless that feeling of being a part of something brand new and it becomming successful is awesome.
We used to come up from Belle-Vegas (Belleville) - 40 minutes from Kingston (six or seven cars - 5/6 to a car!!) and just have a wickid time - that summer of 2000 the best!! We all knew the music from our own bedroom DJ parties - so we represented......dance to the beat...dance to the beat!!!!
Most of my friends at the time were househeads - but the Max Graham night turned them onto trance BIG TIME - some tunes from that night - BT - DREAMING (looping through-out his mix), TIMO MAAS - DOOM's NIGHT, MATT DAREY - LIBERATION/FLY LIKE AN ANGEL, SANDSTORM - RETURN OF THE NOTHING, KATCHA - TOUCHED BY GOD, ART OF TRANCE - MADAGASCAR, ARMIN - COMMUNICATION, PUSH -UNIVERSAL NATION, TASTE EXPERIENCE FEAT NATASHA PEARL - SUMMERSAULT, LUSTRAL - EVERYTIME, RHYTHM OF LIFE - YOU PUT ME IN HEAVEN WITH YOUR TOUCH, PVD - FOR AN ANGEL......and on and on (so many good uplifting vocal trance tunes at a time when this style was at its peak).
There are times I know when everyone can honestly say "LAST NIGHT A DJ CHANGED MY LIFE......WITH A SONG" this happened on so many levels that night - people we crying (literally - when BT - DREAMING came on full force after the teasing) - no fights - (good for a beer drinking straight crowd - that always had a fight every night you went out - God do I not miss these type of events) - breaking down the "I HATE THAT TECHNO ...." barrier - people actually started to go into the TOP 40 bars after this event and request TRANCE - YEAH!!! and within six months the last hour from 2:00 to 3:00 they played it!!!! EDUCATION IS GOOD :D
Plus I met a slew of people from the Toronto/Kingston/Ottawa areas that remain dear friends to me today......:D
So again reading your reviews at the VAULT reminds me very much of these times.....enjoy them whenever/wherever you can find them - because these will be the nights that live with you forever in your memories......these are nights when you find your true self in people's admiration of your company....look at the shout-outs in this thread - excellent feeling to experience!!! I just wish I had the photo's to prove it like your guys. In 2000 digi cameras were not all the rage/as cheap.
My 2 cents again - but I was moved to respond, sorry :o
I hope to see some of you at SYSTEM on Friday (HOLDEN AND DESYN) and now that some of you can put a face to the name - come say hi - I am kinda shy - until I get settled in for the night somewhere.....now that I have been using the forums more - and looking at pictures and such - I recognize a HUGE amount of you - until recently I only knew NAT and DALLASTAR.. and a couple others...
I am gonna miss kickin it with ALEX this summer when he is away and my roomate Samara - but to Kelly and the other crazy dancers - I am up for the challenge - JACK TO THE SOUND OF THE UNDERGROUND / DIVAS TO THE DANCEFLOOR PLEASE!!.
;) ;) ;) :haha: |

WTF are you saying sorry for!??!?!?!? That was a very touching response and I am SO in tune to your "these are the nights when you find your true self..." I'm loving it...I won't see you this week, unfortunately, but I hope we can chill at another Vault gathering...
A heartfelt welcome from me, at least!!!! :) |
