Yea, I know what you mean... try riding the pitch fader instead then.. TINY adjustments with that will be easier than nudging the record... |

my conclusion to your confusion is that your not beat matching your mixes well enough, personally i reccomend that you take more time to listen if the incoming track drifts. you have to train your ears to pick up little details like that to perform well in the bedroom *HaHa* or hopefully in a club.

I used to notice this, its a bit of a complex, you keep thinking its of etc etc,
my trick is to just listen, and step back, just chill..
i spinn all round much better when im chilling, in my head. |

+1 you have to belive in what your doing and be confident too. |

| the main thing is to listen really hard....like couple of the others said...adjust the pitch accordingly....it might even be just a hairs bredth either way...also if you nudge it, you could nudge it to far...and usually if you dont nudge it enough....the record usually falls out of sync really quickly...so u have to franticly nudge it hard to get it back in sync, which causes sluuuring |

just keep practising, you'll get there in the end!

| I've never tried nudging the record. Ever since I started spinning, I've been using the pitch control. I couldn't even imagine trying to beatmatch by nudging the record. |

Don't have your crossfader right in the middle, and always nudge the record that's quiter in the mix. Also, if doing a correction by dropping a record back a bit, do it on each 8th beat, the slight slow-down in the track isn't so noticeable. However if you use the platter to slow a track down it's probably difficult to slow it with short stabs of the finger. I always have to use the pressure on the vinyl way. Sometimes it sounds .
As has been said, it's just a case of stand back and listen, give the track a good few beats before adjusting, make adjustment and nudge the crossfader up a tad at the same time. Then stand back again. After time you will find yourself doing it quickly and right.
Or try sitting on your hands. |
