Hi,
How smooth does the Audiophile 2496 play movie files with codecs like Windows Media 9 (which is becoming more and more popular), DivX, etc.. compared to the Audigy?! The Audigy mentions that it "supports WM9" (what does that mean?!) and I've also read that the Audiophile does provide next to no DirectSound acceleration and it also has none of the other hardware accelaration features the Audigy has.
Could this mean that with the Audiophile playing WM9, DivX avi/wmv movie files could give lower framerates (or even short pauses, stuttering, etc..) compared to the Audigy, or do all of the above mentioned movie types play perfectly smooth like on an Audigy?! I would really like to know this!
PS: anybody who has had both an Audigy and Audiophile 2496 and can tell from experience?
Thanks for all good feedback!!
Cheers, Mike. |

Hi,
The reason I am asking here is because alot of people doing music production are familiar with the audiophile 24/96, so therefore my question here. Nobody who can help with my question please? Thanks! :) |
