More of my tax dollars wasted

And this time wasted by some rich little girl who just had a little case of cold feet but was ready to take her lie almost all the way. Almost fitting we're having thunderstorms down here today. She should make some sort of financial restitution with the city and state for all of the manpower and resources that were wasted trying to find her, not to mention the embarassment she caused her family and community and the emotional stress to boot.

ALBUQUERQUE — A Georgia bride-to-be who vanished just days before her wedding turned up in New Mexico (search) and fabricated a tale of abduction before admitting Saturday that she got cold feet and "needed some time alone," police said.
Jennifer Wilbanks, 32, had called her fiance from a pay phone late Friday and told him that she was kidnapped three days earlier while she was jogging, authorities said. But she soon recanted, according to police.
"It turns out that Miss Wilbanks basically felt the pressure of this large wedding and could not handle it," said Randy Belcher, the police chief in Duluth, Ga., the Atlanta suburb where Wilbanks lives. He said there would be no criminal charges.
The wedding, which had been scheduled for Saturday, was elaborate. The couple had mailed 600 invitations, and the ceremony was to feature 14 bridesmaids and 14 groomsmen.
Wilbanks, whose disappearance set of a nationwide hunt for her, was tired and thirsty, but was not complaining of any injuries, officials said. Her hair, which was long in pictures released by her family, was shoulder-length. |

I have a military family so, no, not like it does to you.;) This situation pisses me off because it was so frivolous, and the fact that she told such a whopper of a lie, turned her fiance into a murder suspect and created so much fear and worry in the process of her little pre-marriage breakdown. |

Absoinglutely the media should be blamed. Why the hell do I care about this ? Why the hell did the media splash this everywhere and force this complete nonissue down my throat?
Seems like this and Michael Jackson is all we hear about anymore. I'm so sick of the media whoring to Hollywood twirps and nonissue items like murder cases and wedding breakups.
