Holy Scheiße!
Whut an insane night guys! I think this is hands down the FUNNEST night I have EVER had in Collingwood. It just felt so bloody good to be listening to amazing trance in town... and the thing that makes this ever better than the battle set Matt and Nate laid down like 2 month ago was the amount of ppl!

The place was absolutely rammed!! the WHOLE night!! You could tell 3/4 of the ppl there were surprised at the music and even tho most of them didnt seem to just be loving it like us, they were still bobbing their heads around or just kinda standing back and watching us dance. LOL. I cant believe ppl were busting it out so intense at Monsoon... its a lounge and that was so great and unexpected :)
I meet alot of cool chicks and a whole bunch of other ppl that were just loving the music as much as the rest of us... looks like we have some underground edm lurkers in town... lol
Went there w/ MissK and djn8goulet and his gf... then Matt met us there and we ran into a few other friends. There was a good core group of us, maybe 10 or so and we were the ones just busting it out on the newly-formed Monsoon dance floor... the WHOLE night, there was just no way i could hear these ch00ns and NOT dance.
Matt and Nate were awesome on the decks. Ch00ns of the night were Rachael Starr - Till There Was You. Matt dropped this as his second track and i was surprised! It was a great start. Whutever the track he opened w/ blew me away too. it was delicious. Other highlights from Matts set were AVB - LONGEST DAY... holly crap.. when i hear the "du du du du" of that song (<<< thats *supposed* to be the click ticking noise) i just fly away! And when Matt dropped the Breaks Dub of Breathing - Rank 1... wow! :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyes: That was my first moment where I just wanted to die and go to heaven. :D
Then around 12 Nate hit the decks and RIGHT from the get go just destroyed!! I cant recall now (i was pretty hammered all night) but there was one transition that rocked me to my soul. BEST song of the night was Nate dropping Tiësto - Adagio for Strings... holy did i ever lose it then. HAD to put down my beer to properly dance as hard as i wanted to to show my appreciation for this uber-track (IMO). This was the highlight of my night handsdown. When he played Marc Mally - Faith (a somewhut unknown track i think), :crazy: ! WOW! I think it was telling everyone around me to listen to the words... so soft... scheiße! :D
Okay, this review has definitely gotten a tad on the long side.
Overall:
Music: EASY 10/10
Atmosphere: 10/10... the very BEST ive ever seen Monsoon Lounge
Ppl: 10/10 Great friends, always, Katy (MissK), Nate (djn8goulet), Jenna, Soren, Lia, Matt, and the million other ppl i met last night.
Cant wait till the next one... IT WONT BE SOON ENOUGH!!! this is whut ive been missing all these years when my friends would go to the other (crummy dive) local bars... theyd talk of how many ppl they met, how awesome it was, how much fun... yada yada yada... well! I finally experience that feeling at a bar/lounge in town! Ive finally been broken in, lol!

I have to say that I last night was one of the best nights I have ever had in C'wood. The atmosphere was amazing, Nate- luvin' monsoons! You wil see me there more often.
MAtt, luved ur style, I can't believe ur so talented at a young age. I look forward to my mix lessons :D

| Yeah guyz, that was the most fun i have ever had in the c-wood. Thank you for your support, i'm glad that i was able to make this night happen. It makes me feel prety good knowing that collingwood is becoming a place where dreams come true. It couldn't have happened without you and all the others. I'll have cd's available soon. Friday night, Monsoon was definitely giving the vibe of happening nightclub. The setup was awesome (well... except the monitors lol) and it was nice to have some lighting and fog to play with. Next time I want to get a projector and do some visualization stuff.
It was really awesome how many people told me how much they enjoyed the music and the vibe. I think we are going to see many successful nights in the future. I think another 4 deck battle session is in order :D
Well... I best be off to work.... constantly working since Friday :( |

One of my craziest weekends so far in 2005
Such a fantastic time at Monsoons on Friday.
Then off to TO with many friends to party kandi style at the 2nd last Hulla.
This has been a truly memorable EDM weekend.
Thank you to all the TAs I partied with that really just created one of my favourite weekends of 2005 so far -- a dream come true of weekends I'd say...
Katy, Nate, Matt, Michelle, Karim, Simon, Ryan
Guys, yall rock and I hope we have a million more times like these in the future. Great friends are a wonderful thing to have -- great friends who love EDM are beyond words! :)
