| We sailed up the coast of Bellingham Bay from Boulevard Park just below campus... ended up in the cove across from Lummi Island and decided to anchor just off of a small beach on the (nameless) island in the pictures. It was an absolutely awesome spot to stop, cook lunch on our little portable stove, and just hang out. We hiked a bit, took a load of pictures (300+), and then caught 25MPH winds back to the marina. It was an AWESOME day. Probably the coolest trip I've take in years. |

| Boats are fun to be on, but suck to own. I sell boat parts and its recockulous what you have to go through and what it costs for something you only use a few months out of the year (if that). They are damn fun when its not on your dime though:toocool: Glad you had a good time:) |

I fully intend on selling everything I own and living out the rest of my days on a boat once I retire... no doubt about it. I could care less how much it costs. There's no other feeling quite like turning into the wind and feeling the boat kick forward. :)
We're going camping on another island in a few weeks, too, so I will definitely post more pictures. |

Nothing wrong with that man....if thats what your into. Its just seeing the thousands of dollars spent to "maintain" the boats (sailboats included) Its crazy amounts of money. If you break something get ready for a bigger shock. I look at boats as a "hole in the water you throw money into". Dont get me wrong they are a joy to be on and may be worth (to you) whatever it may cost to keep seaworthy.
Im not trying to poop on your thread though. I was just mentioning the suprise to me when I started working with boats, at what it costs to own one. Seeing as how most only use them for 4-5 months out of the year, and they only get out around 10 times during that window.
That said, I think living on a boat would be great and peaceful.Money aside.
Everyone needs a goal......Go for it!:toocool: |
