SLDZ1200... experiencing digital noise

My friend has been having this problem for the last month. The unit is quite new (since Jan I believe). Apparently, it only happens with discs that are burned, and start to make somewhat of a skipping noise (even though the track is not skipping according to the time) after track 4 and onward. The same discs will play in my CDJs and in our vehicles just fine. Same thing happens when it reads a MP3 disc too.

Regional manager of GT told us it sounds like a bad unit. It could also be possible it needs to be cleaned. He loves the deck but is on the brink of turning to the darkside... and going with a CDJ.

Anyone else experience this problem?

Tf that's what defines the darkside, then call me DJ Darth Turner...

...

Star Wars Dork + DJ Dork... obviously I'm extremely popular :clown:

Why would he go to the darkside by buying a CDJ? he has an SLDZ1200, thats a CDJ...

That does sound like a bum unit... I got a dz1200 and a cdj1000mk2 and have no problems like that at all... swap it out.

Not only is the CDJ its rival, it is black

Besides, it will match his M5Gs much better than the SLDZ :toocool:

I would chose a pioneer over the Technics, the SLDZ looks very nice, but cosmetics do not make it perform better. This is their first shot at a cdj, their next one should be a better improvement, the SLDZ was an experiment & learning experience for panasonic.

I see the MK2 of the SLDZ a vast improvement. Always takes a first try before getting it down pretty solid.

Initially, I wanted spinning platters... till I played with the CDJs. Nothing else compares.

Although you never know... the next techs cdj might change your mind :happy2:

Its possible... but do know the CDJ1000MK2 is the benchmark of the cd world. Im sure in a couple of years something better will come out.

Its kinda like the Techs MK2 vs the M5G or MK5... pretty much the same thing.
