| Well it is about time! After leaving my internship in December of 2004, (I graduated in May of 2004 but stayed at the internship for a couple of months for experience) I finally got offered a job at this respectable IT Firm. Even though I am happy to have this awesome job, I do feel old at a mere 22 years of age. Anyone else in my situation? |

Congratulations on your new job. I'm a bit younger than you, but I have one more academic term of my program to do, and I already feel the pressure for immediate career success when I get out.
In my opinion, if your position is one where you're not "locked in", and/or is something you enjoy doing - you're doing damn good, esp for 22. :) |

Actually its a great job. For the first 6 months its research analysis (the company is small, but growing very uickly and need to get its research up to date), at this point i am making 35-40K. After 6 months, i am going into drawing services engineering which pays close to 45k. The job is fun. 8-5pm, 1hr lunch break, sick days, personal days, lots if breaks in a very relaxed environment, the office views are beautiful and the people are simply awesome.
Perhaps the only gripes i have are.
1. I am the youngest person in the office. Everyone is 26-60 years of age.
2. Its a long commute. I wake up at 6am to reach the job at 8. I leave at 5 but because there is lots of traffic, i get home at around 6:30pm.
Those are 2 reasons i feel old :(. It sucks coming home and not having anytime to do anything in the weekdays :( Sometimes i feel so lost  |
I am graduating Mechanical Engineer this spring. Does your job use Pro-E or any Computer aided design prog I am set for grad school unless a job pops up. |

| congrats, i work 7 days a week which sucks. 5 days, i wake up at 5am, go to school, dont come home til 6-6.30pm dead tired. then on the weekends, i go to work as a busser(WORST JOB EVAR)/food runner(ANYTHING BETTER THAN BUSSING) from 9am to 5pm and dead tired. i go home, take a nap, then try to get out and do something at night. friday and saturday night are basically my only substantial free times. and im only 18. add on to the soccer training 2 times a week and watch me when the season starts. im ganna be a burnout. |
