After a year it's broken. He needs to get mixing skills down first before screwing w/ effects. ALso a mixer that can suit both mixing and scratching would be helpful when his style develops. The djm-707 is currently the best deal, and could be helpful in the future. another good cd deck for cheap is the numark axis 9, had mine for 2 years now and still going strong, also try to convince him to get tts. Dhagor well.. there is a chance that you might actually love it when you have got the equipment. i went the 'highend' route and am quite happy with myself - no need to upgrade. and if i really choose to drop it all its ALOT easier to sell technics mk2's and a&h xone mixer than lets say behringer and reloop.
