Review: Republik (04-30-05)

My first time at this club and i love it! if you like house muzik...dammmmmn republik is the place to be. We saw this insane lineup around the hip hop entrance, but went to the other entrance and got in right away. thank you so much walter for the hook ups!
as a huge house music fan (#2 favorite music next to trance) i prolly recognized 90% of the sets from little p and peter ivals (is that who the djs are? regardless, they were awesome, i was totally in the mood for a nite of toons i recognized. some of my favs were:
bombdogs - feeling i can't explain (steve lawyler mix)
sos - a studio(skylark remix)
joses nunez - bilingual
david guetta - the world is mine (deep dish remix)
hatiras - space invaders (omg lol, brings me back haha, love dat tune)
max linen - flashback
and the list goes on and on and on. they wouldn't let me sit down, everytime i wanted to take a break something awesome came on.
my girlfriend and i stayed til the end dancing our ass off on a soon to be empty dance floor (unfortuntely getting kicked out cause they said they were closing coat check and that was at 4am) :( ohwell, at least thats an hour better then every other club on richmond street lol. hopefully when the big names come in it will atract a crowd that will want to stay late. unfortunately being in the richmond location, it attracts all the drunk gino crowd that is passed out by 2am and no ones left. on the whole though, the crowd was pretty good and met some nice ppl!...will definately be going here more in the summer! |

| Sounds like you had a good time! That's great...thanks for sharing your review. I'd like to make it up to Republik sometime this summer hopefully. It looks like a really cool place. Namely the men's washrooms...I know it sounds silly, but the pictures on the website are pretty cool! Haha I wonder what big names they'll get their this summer? |

LOL!!! I've been wanting to check out Republik, too...as well as System...next big TOTA event lemme know (bandwagon's such a comfortable way to travel! ;)) |
