Hey people,
I've noticed a few threads were some of you talk about recording/sampling stuff from anywhere around to create your own original sounds. I'm really inerested in trying that but I'm not to creative about how to do it; microphone, digital recorder, analog recorder....
I mean, what hardware do y'all use? |

It's easy man...think of how cool something sounds when you slam on it or do something to it. Now thing how much cooler it'll sound if you applied a long reverb to it or another effect. I have 3 Shure SM58 mics and I record sounds that dry might be useless but "effected" would sound great. Hell, the other day I was yawning and I kinda whistled so I tried to do it again and I recorded it. I applied reverb, I filtered the hell out of it and I created this other-worldly sound. At the end, the whistle sound my tongue made, sounded like when a train stops...you know that high pitched squeal...just like that...but very misterious. I'll post it later when I get to my apartment. Anyway, just be ready to catch anything that sounds cool. It doesn't matter if you record it with a pocket recorder, it doesn't have to be hi-fi to be useable, hehe. Just like I always carry a camera with me because there's always something cool that makes me think, "Wow, I'm lucky I had the cam with me". Same with that, if you hear a weird sound, record it...it'll sound awesome when you tweak it. :D |

Well, my Creative mp3 player records at very low bitrate and there's some noise in the recordings too, so i guess that's not good enough... |

I like your attitude RiCo. I'm the same with the camera. But for sounds I just can't be carrying around a laptop + soundcard + mic.
So what you're saying is any pocket recorder should do cos it all comes down to messing the hell out of it
Gracias
So, anybody so happy with its recorder that would like to recommend it?
Thanks |
