followed my my ex-boyfriend out here. we lived together in NY but he was originally from Milwaukee and wanted to move back. then i dumped him, but decided to stay.
with the exception of the segregation, Milwaukee is actually a really cultured and amazing city. i mean, there's stuff going on every weekend. you can get any kind of ethnic food you can think of. there's lots of really cool stores downtown, great indie movie theaters, a bar on every corner, good local bands, awesome comedians (ok i'm biased because they're my friends). there's concert halls and theatres, sports arenas, the East Side, Historic Third Ward, Water St, Brady St, Summerfest (the largest music festival!), plenty of colleges, museums, etc...
and downtown Milwaukee is just booming like crazy. seems like every time i drive through, there's another new luxury condo going up. and the greatest thing about Milwaukee is how cheap it is to live here. just yesterday i was taking a tour of this place (the units i checked out were anywhere from high $200s to low $400s) which would easily be in the millions if it were in NY. you get wayyyy more for your money out here.
the only things i dislike about Milwaukee...
1. no NY-style pizza (have to go to Madison for that)
2. bartime is too early
3. electronic music scene is crap
and yeah, after i dumped my ex i found myself a great midwestern boy. ;) |
yeah i love milwaukee... i dont know my way around too well yet, but im moving there this fall and going to UWM so i'll learn eventually

It's time to face the facts guys.
Minnesota > Wisconsin.
We've known it for years, it's time to face up to reality.
:stongue: |
lmao... all you guys have going for you is a bigass mall, which is far too family oriented and is smaller than one in canada... ewww canada :p
AND
10,000 lakes... wow.. big deal... we have more than 10,000 lakes too!

If your gunna bash on any W state, for the love of god bash on Wyoming, I drove the border of that state a couple years back, and all I can say is that its the most desolate and disturbing place you could ever visit, the east side is all coal mines the north side is cattle ranchers, and the south side is all missile silo's (which were pretty sweet actually :p).
Wyoming even has less people than Alaska, imagine that, more people would rather freeze their ass off then live in Wyoming! |
more people live in the city of milwaukee than the state of wyoming :haha: |

Yeah, but everyone who lives south of the U.P. are trolls living under the bridge anyway.
:wtf:
And seriously, MSP owns Milwaukee. I mean, the Brewers? Is that even a pro team still or are they in the Minors? |
