Lookin for good headphones??

| Hey everybody, my little picture to the left is my fav headphones in the world, the sony v-700 's so I just wanted to point out to everybody that the greatest headphones, usually 150$ us can be gotten off etronics.com for only 94$ - hope I help somebody out, I own a pair, I've had em for a little over a year, and after using them every day they still are in great condition. i love em! peace |

yeah ive used both the v-700s and now i own the v6s, gluegun was right on the money, these v6s are AMAZING!!! the clarity.. the fit is so much better... i havent compared volumes let but it boggles me as to how anything could be louder than the undistortionable v6s.
and they cost me .. like 75$ US! from djmart!

I've tried most headphones, here's my opinion on this subject:
(Headphones I had for a year until this month) SONY MDR V6 - Best and most comfortable headphone by Sony
(Headphones I wouldn't recommend) SONY MDR V700 - They are painful on the top of the eras as soon as I put them on, they look nicer, but the bass is horrid.
(My current headphones) MoS DJ1001 - The best headphones in the world, extremely comfortable, I once did a 6 hour set in these, with no pain on the ears or head, they don't make you sweat and they don't give you a headache. The bass is wonderful on these, and the mid range is beautiful and in the higher mid ranges and high areas the clarity is superb. They can tolerate really high volumes, I use them for producing and DJing, they are better than my speakers. |

Yeah, the MOS DJ1001 are superb headphones!
Too bad I can't get them in israel.. so i sattled for a pair of Technics RP-DJ1200 - also vveeeeerrrrryyy good! awesome and very warm and realistic sound! and their weight is half of the V-700's.. they're also very very very comfortable. |

Get the Sony MDR-V6's.
To improve their comfort, get the Velour pads from Beyerdynamic for their DT250 headphones, and replace the V6's pads with those.
That way, you have the best of ALL worlds!!
The best sound (which the V6's have already, LOL!), AND the best comfort! That headache, tightness, sweatiness, all that other stuff? That can be fixed by replacing the pads!! Boylukey2k, I'm willing to bet that, with the Beyer pads, you will prefer the V6's over your current cans, LOL!
Remember, get Beyerdynamic's replacement Velour earpads for their "DT250" Headphones.

P.S. If you still find the MDR-V6's too tight (that tightness is a for-dj feature, so they dont fall off in 1-sided monitoring and stuff), you CAN stretch the MDR-V6's a little, all ya gotta do is pull veeeeeeeerrrrrryyyyyyy carefully, and I think the metal part should bend a little. But, I wouldn't though, I'd just get these bigger, softer, more comfy, circumaural pads, LOL! |

Sorry like, but I've been DJing for about 4 years now CD, now vinyl :D, I've tried many a headphone, nothing beats these Ministry DJ1001, I prefer the sound in these to the V6, and the gel band at the top is really comfy. |

i personally really love the "tightness" and fit of the pads on the v6s. they enclose much better than the v-700s imo..
but i havent tried those other ones |

Well, the current pads go ON your ears, and have some sweatiness problems. The other pads go AROUND you rears, and are all soft, and your ears breathe a lot easier!
Anyways, yea, compare the IXOS DJ1001's to, say, Denon AHD-950's or a Modded set of Sony MDR-V6's...

Anyways, I know you all are specialist/DJ's, but, shoot, there's something to be said for versatility and not limiting yourself.
Read that guys review...the MDR-V6 doesnt have those problems...that reviewer even talks about the V6's in his review. The thing is, if you want to use headphones that don't hold you back if you wanna break the ice a little in creating music, do more than a DJ is 'expected' to, the V6's will not hold you back, wheareas the IXOS cans will... for example, all of that stuff about bass extension or instrument separation and positioning, you can add that to a mix...
