| i dunno, most trance breakbeat sections are incredibly weak compared to real breaks i tend to stay away. |

| your title contradicts itself. breakbeat does not equal trance. are you talking about parts of trance tracks with breaks in them? or trancey sounding breakbeat tracks? or both...? |

I listen to all kinds of stuff. . .trance, breaks, jungle, HHC, Nirvana. . .
but it is true, breaks are not trance. at times a broken beat can help the build after the break, i.e. make it a bit more intense. however one should never go further than two measures in this fashion.

there is a dj nearby that plays all trance with breaks in it, he plays a pretty nice set I think. He calls himself "trancefunk". he is one of those dudes who'se face has been photochopped and sent thru the intarnet many many times. Such a fun guy, about 4 feet tall, dances wildly while he plays, crazy little guy is great fun.
