My new Micro Q arrived the other day, and it is a angry little of a synth. It makes my speakers cry. I dont know how I lived without comb filters before.

Thankyou, that is all...

How is the new Micro Q different from the old one ?

And do Waldorf make a softsynth version ?

Waldorf is now dead.

They dont make soft synths of any of their HD synths.

New Micro Q has a different colour than the new one.

WALDORF IS AWSOME!

Sorry, its not new. Well its 'new' to my studio, but its the same one that was released in 2001. Should have mentioned that.

I had this thing revving like a motorcycle engine last night, it was hilarious. I was expecting a run of the mill VA attempt at an analogue sound, but the frequency range on this thing is unbelievable. It seems to be able to go from rumbling sub bass to clear and crisp highs in one filtersweep, which is the way it should be imho. Very good sounds for psy trance or more techno/tech oriented trance. The pads and stuff dont sound all that warm to be honest though, but it seems a single osc packs a lot more punch, so yeah... I guess its not meant to do supersaws ;) Much more of a cutting, digital sound.

The VST version is TerraTec's Komplexer. It can apparently import sounds from the Micro Q or something. Apparently Terratec tried to bail out Waldorf when they were in trouble bu to no avail. Some of the sound designers from waldorf went there after they went bust too, so yeah maybe it will actually sound a fair bit like the HW version??
