Oh man do me and my friends EVER do this... its insane... sometimes i'll catch myself and try and stop but most of the time its out of my control...
i have been calling everyone a 'douche' lately which i started saying because of a girl i work with.. and i have noticed my friends have been using it a lot more these days.
the movie sayings definately catch on quickly too.. i'm an avid movie watcher and i quote movies all the time.. but when a movie is big in my group of friends its like we practically act it out in one conversation...
another thing that has caught on with me is i have started to do some same facial expressions as one of my good friends (Chadly84) when it started happening it was the weirdest thing cause we would start making the same expressions to eachother at the same time and then we'd just be like "ok...we hang out too much"

For sure, doodman.

Not often. My brother copies one of his friends and it pisses me off to no end, so I actively try to stay different.

I was going to post this, but I was too uber-buggered from my weekend, .

What's even more interesting is when you start using the verbal mannerisms from one group while you're with another group, and you start hearing those verbal mannerisms in that group.

with some things that i say i noticed a few of my friends started using the same words that i often use...
wot, peeps, freakin, nice, kulioes, etc.
just some little things like that...

then we normaly use the same slang stuff like ... dohp, gitty gitty, how YOU doing, wots up dog, etc...

other then that we grew out of the follow the leader part..

Memetic distribution in action!

It's not surprising that all of us, being proponents of counter-culture at some level, have a tendancy to do such things.

Not so much Manneurisms, but language, for sure....

For instance: at work I am surrounded by a lot of children form the ghetto, and I pick up on a lot of their hip-hop slang...when I am in canada for a bit, I tend to say "eh" and "for sure" more often, and when I am back in New York City, my accent tends to thicken, although I have it all the time ;)

My friend got me saying "I'm zoodled" for when you're high or drunk.

As I got them saying "who are you!?!?" after someone has just finished a long winded yap.

I haven't heard that term in soooo long! :)

But I have managed to pick up the word corky from my old assistant manager. Whenever he did something wrong or someone else did something wrong he would call them corky.. and well now, I just can't kick it..
I almost use that word TOO much!
