Honestly, none of those albums own my soul, but since you like hybrid, i'm gonna forgive you, CAUSE YOUR AWESOME !!!
But yeah, my vote goes to Right of way
I haven't heard much of the other stuff
I think i heard a bit of Just Be

thanks dude - you are AWESOME! I am glad you remembered me.....Hybrid do ROCK!!!!!!!

I was trying thought to pick trance artist albums from the last 12-18 months - and these were some of the only ones I could think of.....
NOW MIXED ALBUMS - that is something else entirely. I guess ATB could have been in there - otherwise there have not been that many Trance DJ's from the Top 100 that have released personal album Material - to any wide acclaim/success/domestic release worldwide.

This is good that people are discussing..........what others should have been included in this list/poll?.......with all of these forums of knowledge - I expect many posts in this thread!

Thanks guys!! :tongue2

BTW this Document must be great... ;)

Monument is not that bad - remixes have been caned thoroughly over here in North America......

I like all these albums in this pick/poll here is why.......:tongue2

FERRY CORSTEN - RIGHT OF WAY

We/KOCH ENTERTAINMENT released this in Canada and I had it months before it was out - the fact that Ferry came to Toronto just before this album was released/coupled with the fact that it was the last album on the now defunct MOONSHINE label (a staple of good dance music for 10 years) as an artist album RIGHT of WAY had major crossover appeal - trance, techno, breaks, chill....plus the singles that came of the album, ROCK YOUR BODY ROCK, RIGHT OF WAY, IT'S TIME, HOLDING ON - all top 10!!!

ARMIN VAN BUUREN - '76

Again - knowing people from EMI I got my hands on this fairly early as well - Burned with Desire - literally had me in tears on the Subway ride home that day - and the Rising Star remix that followed that summer - EMOTION ALERT!!! - BLue Fear - which I remember from my Global Underground Oakenfold - live in OSLO from '98 - one of my top ten of all time - re-rubbed and as sweet sounding as ever!! Wait for You, Communication, Sunburn......this album is trance music at it's most melodic and warm synth pads abound - perfect for when ARMIN played a boat cruise of 500 people here last CANADA DAY (JULY 1) imagine - 30 degree sunshine on a boat for 5 hours with ARMIN playing this sick trance PRICELESS!!!........ event of the year last year for me!!!!

TIESTO - JUST BE

A short album - with 3 previous singles.....little did we know (he was also compiling PARADE at the same time). ADAGIO FOR STRINGS is a Classic - Eddie Halliwell - threw down a 20 minute mix of this at the GUVERNMENT here 3 weeks ago - 3000 people were freaking out!! TRAFFIC - one of his finest hard trance productions to date, Walking on Clouds (with the beautiful Hawkshaw), Just Be - the title tracks lyrics (SO SELF AFFIRMING AND POSTIVE) and Love Comes Again - I have always been a sucker for BT (seen him spin 7 times/met/had dinner/enjoyed shop talk with him - awesome guy!). PEOPLE EXPECTED WAY TOO MUCH from him with this album considering the album that was released 4 months later......

TIESTO - PARADE OF THE ATHLETES

The fact that this guy spun during the OLYMPIC ceremonies - everyone and their Grandma from around the WORLD saw/heard him spin - cultures that cannot even get along and communicate with one another - were unified in the MUSIC that was spun during the OPENING ceremonies - everybody!! watches the open ceremonies........I WOULD DIE TO HAVE BEEN GIVEN THAT ONCE IN A LIFETIME PRIVELIGE......and so many people chalk it up to crap music........those who are educated and not jealous - will admit this was HISTORY in the making - and this appearance gave TRANCE and EDM Music a new found respect/validity and purpose from a GLOBAL point of view......This NON-VOCAL trance album crossed cultural bounderies in no way - since Jean Micahel Jarre, Kraftwerk, Georgio Moroder, Vangelis.......and I am sorry... when Tiesto drops BREDA 4AM in a set - WHOLLY FAACCK!!!!!! People MOVE I tell you........:eyespop: :eyespop:

BLANK AND JONES - MONUMENT

This might have been the weakest album of the 5 but the remixes that have come from this album are excellent. Again from an idea of concept artist album - it bridges many gaps......trance/tech-trance, breaks, electro-trance.....these guys deserve respect....they are excellent producers and down to earth and thoughtful people in real life. Lacking many of the BS attitudes that most of POP culture heroes
project on a daily basis.....to the people that follow and listen...there are many sheep in the heard!!!

so ya - there you go - maybe now you can understand why I picked these albums - I was not asking top 5 albums of all time - just as of LATELY - and with not that much competition out there - I did not expect such flaming comments :(

TRANCE is my fav style of EDM - through my managing of a record store for 5 years, working for a record label for 4+ years and before all of this the passionate drive to seek out new music that spoke to me.....I can honestly say since my first cd purchase in March of 1990 (Depeche Mode - VIOLATOR) - 8,000 plus cds later and the 100's of parties I have been too........I have a deep profound appreciation for this music and it's creators......KNOWLEDGE IS POWER - and there cannot be true KNOWLEDGE without an open-mind....remember that before you comment so lightly in these forums. I am really enjoying these forums/TRANCE ADDICT - and I never mean to offend anyone......I hope the same feelings are directed towards me......whew......
thanks for you time.....CIAO!!!!:gsmile:
