I got a vestax 275, and been learning scratch moves recently from a friend and was wondering...If i start using the 275 as a scratch mixer (And yes i know it wasnt designed as one). How long till the channels start bleeding?
djtrinity
why worry about that now......enjoy your mixer

Thats why the cross fader is replaceable.....

^ think the channels are on that too actually (could be wrong)

If it starts going all hay wire remove the faceplate and dust it with cuetips. Your Vestax should last a long time no matter how you abuse it.
beats and beeps
It has pcv faders man, Vestax uses those in their scratch mixers too you know, and Vestax is fairly well known for their battle mixers...

Is it the PCV 275? because the crossfader on mine has such a gradual curve that (most) scratching is near impossible. You don't get a fast enough cut because of the distance you have to move the fader. You also can't get a replacement scratch xfader (i.e. v short curve) and vestax have confirmed they won't be doing one for the pcv 275.
If you're worried about bleed on the xfader - don't be - it's guaranteed for 1 million passes and the channel faders last for ages and when they do go they are easy to replace.
By the way when cleaning your mixer (esoeccialy the internals) use switch cleaner by servisol then Cailube MCL (moving contact lubricant). Keeps your mixer smooth for longer. ;)

How about the level faders on the numark dxm mixers do you think they are long lasting, i know the x fader on it is supposed to be but i dont like the curve it has it feels like it cuts out to quickly... i guess it is a scratch mixer though.

The fader on the DMX is for scratching so it will have pretty sharp cut in. Nowt you can do about it. The faders are not bad but if you do all your scratching with them they will wear out in 6 months - I have seen it happen. If you really want to scratch the ecler mixers have a really neat function where you can set the cut in points on either side of the crossfader as well as alter the curve but these mixers are usually not so hospitable for house/trance mixing.
