looking for a good freeware cd ripper.

i came across freerip but i don't like the freedb thing coz it's not working right.

of course there's itunes, but it's big and comes with unnecessary crapz0rs.

if anybody knows of something smaller, that can do ID3 tags automatically, let me know.

i used to use this hot program named audiograbber, but its neither freeware nor (from memory) does the id3 tags

yeah, audiograbber rocked, until i upgraded to XP that is. is there an xp version out and about these days? cbf looking ;)

to cut my mp3 sets or cds into tracks when ive got the cue file, i use this program: Mp3 Direct Cut

download it here: http://www.mpesch3.de/
http://www.simtel.net/product.downl...rs.php?id=80920

to search for cue files i use these two sites:

http://www.regeert.nl/cuesheet/
http://music.anuga.se/?inc=latest

the first site has a 'create' link which lets you type in your own times for tracks in a set and it creates the cue sheet for u!

Filename editing with local and remote CDDB database and cdplayer.ini support and more features like ID3 tagging

works for me! checking it out now. thx.

EDIT: ah ghey. it's freedb also and port blocked by internal security.

bloody wmp can get the tracklistings though. wtf.

whats the best cd ripper to use (free ofcourse) i used audiograbber and it was a bit for me, had skips in it every few minutes :(

Nyquist_Theorem
best ripper = cdex

its freeware, google for cdex and off you go.

best mp3 util = psychicmp3. will name your mp3s just by guessing what they are (if they're albums in folders). has to be seen to be believed if you collect whole albums. also freeware.

itunes beat the internal firewall, so ripping a few cds now. w00t.

not a fan of the lack of options for importing though.
