i am going to uni next year in england so i wont be able to bring my set up:( but i have got into producing lately and i will continue to do so when i go to uni, so i need to know what i need in my laptop to keep producing, i have fl5 producer edition and a couple of tasty plugins like pro 53 and vanguard.

i need to know what is the best thing to get on a budget of £1500 for this i need a laptop, a midi keyboard and half decent studio speakers, and any further plugins
if it helps i make techno/progressive house tunes

I can go in to detail if really needed but go fo a laptop with as fast a processor as possible (2.0 ghz min) 512mb RAM (DDR if poss) a minimum of 40gig Drive (7200 prm if poss). Go for an M audio interface (usb or firewire) depending on how many I/Os you need (mic pre's etc). Then pick up some active monitors like Fostex PM1's or Yamaha MSP5's. Buy some plug ins (pro 53, V-station, etc).
Go for a decent midi controller keyboard like an Edirol PCR 50 (v good), Novation remote 25 (still good but 2 octave) evolution (OK).

The Laptop should not cost more than £900, the sound card £250, the monitors 250 and keyboard £100.
