as long as people can speak they will always have something to bitch about but yeah its preety ridicoulous for them to complain over something they knew would occur like living next to the club district
did they assume it was just a name? But we cant stop anybody from complaing but its preety sad the laws are made to accomadate them what the hell what about the partiers? soon well have o where to party must we go to an island? |

You missed my point. They live next to the city and complain about EVERYTHING that they hear coming from the city over the water. Not just the docks. Businesses have the right to exist and people have the right to congregate in public spaces. not everywhere in the world can be a quiet suburban cul de sac. |

The bottom line is that these residents pay prop taxes, and that far outweighs any prop tax that a club contributes... so how do we protect our nightlife.. hmmm maybe we should create a mini Las Vegas for the entertainment district...something far away from these people's ears. Hell I'll move there... noise doesn't bother me one bit... my ear drums are already shot anyways hahahaaha :stongue: |

Totally agree with you Jay :)
If you live in a city, you should know that it will be busy/noisy (that is not only if you live near a club/bar or something else that is noisy but everywhere more or less)! If you wanted a quiet place, you should have moved to the country or some far out suberb :conf:
My dad in sweden lives in an apartment right downtown in a quite large city, next to a quite trafficed road and with lots of ppl going by drunk at weekends (and weekdays for that matter too). I loved it rather than anything else, to hear the city pulse :) but i guess you have to think that way, cause if you start to think that it is annoying, then it also gets annoying. It's all about attitude i guess... |

I wholeheartedly agree with you that these people are whiners... however...
Wouldn't a better solution be to just turn the music down a little bit? I mean, a lot of people wear earplugs anyways because it's too loud, and with all the talk of hearing loss because of the noise, etc... Do the clubs really NEED to have their music that loud? I'm sure they could afford to cut the volume a little. They could cut it by 10 dB and it would still be too loud for human ears.
Has anyone ever not wanted to go to a club because the music wasn't loud enough? |

I always thought people bought or rented places near the Entertainment District so they could be near the Entertainment District!
I'd be a huge waste of a mortgage to live near 4 blocks of clubs and not go to any of them, or at least work at one of them.
God. If people want quiet, that's what the 'burbs are for.
