| it's never been about attack.. thats just how it sounds. it's sidchain compression. The kick is what triggers the 'slow attack' effect. But with side chain, after the kick is finished (generaly 1/2 a beat), the bass hit's it's full vol. That gives you a more 'combined' bass + kick sound.. |

I knew there would be 1 in there.. bass2.mp3 is directly out of hennes and cold - second trip (dj scot project mix).. there is a part in the track where only the bassline has been sampled and it's been used over and over and over and over and over :D |

| I think there has been some good suggestions in this thread about how to create this bass...so I'll take my time and see how i do.....thanks for the suggestions from everyone! i needed this bit of info to get the ball rolling. i'm not really sure about where i should get my original bass timbre from...but i'll just experiment for now using a bunch of different tones and try my best to apply all the knowledge that was shared in this thread...thanx again to everyone.....keep the knowledge comin regardless...would love to learn as much about how to create bass's like this as possible. |

To me it doesnt sound like it's reversed or long attack. I think it's running the bassline through a sidechain compressor, letting the kickdrum trigger the compressor...

ok now i listen the samples and jes samples 1-3 and 6 is made of kick sample and highly distorted..and reversed
and yes there might be side chain BUT listen carefully.. theres no pumping effect.. so treshold aint high |

dude its just a kick thats got a distortion and a long release to it
take a heavy kick sample dont cut away from it then add a distortion filter tweak it till it sounds right and wallah. |

| ohh and the bass just take a analog synth get a good saw effect and then add some attk and eq it high for a crisp sound and make sure the cutoffs up there too with some resonance depends on the preset u start from. |
