Technics Headphones RPDJ1200 Vs RPDJ1200A

Just wondering if anyone owns both headphones or have had the opportunity to use use them....my question is:

1) Are they any significant difference between the quality of sounds in term treble, mid and bass?

2) Which is the better choice?

I've been trying to locate more info but to no avail. All I know is one is silver and the other black. Silver one has coiled wire but black does not.

Been using Sony MDR-700V for over a year now and I certainly look like "Princess Leia" in Star Wars...not at comfortable.

Appreciate any advice on this comparison!

Cheers:)

the 1200 is the black one which have 40mm drivers
the 1200A's are the silver ones which have larger 50mm drivers cos they are the newer ones...

Out of those two i would get the 1200A's cos they look sooooo much better and have better sound clarity with the 50mm drivers... they are also the same price! one word of caution though.. the headphones are VERY small and sometimes very annoying when it slips off your ears... there is just a little more treble than expected, though bass is quite good..

But if you are open to all other options... get the Sony V6's!! ($70-$80?) Or if money is a worry get the MoS heaphones..
i think its the DJ1001 whihc are the top of the line ones.. very comfortable

anyway, hope that helps!

Yea, forget the Technics! Get the Sony MDR-V6!! Cheaper AND better!

The V6's on yahoo! Shopping:

Cheapest place to get V6's:

For extra added comfort, to get rid of the vast majority of the MDR-V6's flaws, order Beyerdynamic's replacement Velour earpads for their "DT250" Headphones, and put them on the V6's!

to contact beyer (I suggest you telephone them, and get the Velour pads for $22 [VERY MUCH WORTH IT!]):

I would love to try the Sony one, however, I've heard so many great things about the MOS Headphones DJ1001. Anyone knows where is the cheapest place to get them?

Thanks for the advice....but I already have a Sony MDR V-700. So, Gluegun.....appreciate your advice!

Great! You can sell the MDR-V700DJ for an absurdly high price on Ebay, and then buy the cheaper MDR-V6 and the pads, and have money left over!

Oh, and here's an HONEST reveiw of the Ministry of Sound DJ1001's, one that tells their many faults! :)

Oh, wait, you're in canada. The V6's are harder to find/more expensive there. You might not have money left over after all; it will probably come out even in your case, LOL!
