Urban music... Trance Remix

Hey Guys.

Recently I signed a contract with a London based production company to remix up and coming artists that record tracks with them.

The latest one has a few hurdles that I need to clear before I would be happy...

1) tempo = 95 bpm
2) the girl singer is rapping, well not rapping as such, but u get the idea if u listen :) (sounds very difficult to incorporate right?)
3) Obviously the song is urban and so the harmonies used just dont sound right with my style.

I have done a peak-time trance remix, a sample of which I have uploaded. I think I cracked

I just need opinions/suggestions on whether I have successfully jumped said hurdles :)

By the way, Take no notice of the mix as I havent payed that much attention yet (I just did this in a couple of hours :))

SAMPLE

Cheers!

sounds too much like you wrote the song and the rapping part was just randomly thrown in.

it also is too resonant/echoish for my taste.

maybe you could write a synth part that went with it?

i think it sounds nice man. maybe just lay off the delay a little bit, as it just makes the vocals sit a bit weird. maybe just turn the input level down on your delay unit.

Both very good points! Thanks a lot guys. Still thrown open to anyone :)

I really dont like the start with the rapping at the beginning, I would personally just chop up the vocals a lot and throw in the odd word or two (if they didnt mind that!)
It really starts appealing to me at around 1:38 when you start the break, some excellent sounds in there and when the vocal kicks in again it sounds excellent.Sounds very like a 'SNAP' tune to me!
Overall, sounds very commercial but I like it a lot,

Keep up the good work!
