Saw this in the theatres a couple months back with a friend....Very touching...I think i was choking back tears thru out 90% of the movie...Went home and downloaded it, Still has the same effect each time I watch it.

Couldnt agree with you more. Highly recommended.

definitely a timeless movie for me.

a brilliant movie, yes - but it just shows, again & sadly, how powerless the UN actually is. for those of us working in the field this is the most frustrating aspect. our hands are tied due to the politicization and the opportunistic power of the few.

as with any genocide, be it the Kosovo conflict, or the Nazi regime, - name ANY, regardless which, the world needs to wake up to the harsh reality and stop looking away and treating refugees like dirt and criminals, Canada being one of them, especially with the implementation of new anti-terrorist, bi-lateral border controls with the US since the 9/11 attacks! the real problems are never dealt with and the future can't ever be changed unless we stop adding on to the 'band-aid' syndrome!

no i'm not smart, i'm just informed b/c i've dedicated my life to this! but as you so well know from first-hand experience from my own accounts and from all the stress and unfairness involved, I have to put my career on the backburner exactly for these reasons in order not to sacrifice myself by being caught up in the politcal cross-fire like i.e. the chief of the UN peacekeeping troops and the Red Cross officer in the movie.

human rights - is there such a thing outside of lipservice and on paper? ask yourself that...it may always remain idealistic wishful thinking...nonetheless, the UN is still a beacon of hope even as a puppet & without 'teeth'; if it was not already created, someone would need to create it. God bless Kofi Annan's good heart and that of all the humanitarian workers out there who are on a daily basis putting their own lives at risk, for their tireless and selfless dedication!

Ken Wiwa's legend will always continue to serve as a landmark example in history of time. His son, Ken Saro Wiwa, is making sure of that! ;)

...a movie about genocide rated PG....is not a movie about genocide, it is unfortunate that North American audiences cannot handle the realities of the rest of the world....with that said Hotel Rwanda is a great film...if you are a Don Cheadle fan, he is in a new film "CRASH"which I saw in the TO film festival and it was fantastic, Cheadle is (in my opinion) better in Crash.
