Dual cd player question

I am looking to get set up for cd mixing (just for myself and friends) and was wondering if it would be better to get an old Denon 2000 MKIII or get a brand new Stanton 650, Gemini, or Numark deck. I have a friend who is an ex DJ and he insits that I get the Denon but it seems so basic compared to the newer ones I can get for the same price or less! Please help me out!

dont ever buy a dual cd from gemini, numark, or stanton.

you may as well send your money to me.

used denons are ok, but a lot of times there maybe be one thing wrong.. so chekc them out thoroughly and ask questions.

if i was u, id save my money and either buy turntables or new denons (like the 4000) or the pioneer cmx-3000...

I use the twin denons a lot- they are solid and reliable.

I have a 2000 mk3 which has never let me down.

best ones to go for are the 2100 and the 2600 (sampler, looping and hot cues on these), and the 1800 mk2. You can pick these up for not a lot of cash at all.
Avoid the 2000 mk1/2 (no jog wheel on these- the mk3 does have), and especially avoid the 9000, 6000 and 4000 like you would a fat bird on heat- they are utter garbage.

For twins, dont go anywhere near the numark gemini or stanton- the only other dual one to consider is the pioneer cmx3000

isn't the Denon 6000 dual deck their new one? I played around with it recently and thought it was really cool. It has the .02% pitch step, lots of cool functions....

also, the cmx 3000 is the best dual cd deck I have ever played with. I would definitely look into that one if you're seriously considering a dual.

I agree- the cmx is awesome and one of the best twins available for sure. I used one for a year and it was solid too. Highly recommended by me.

The 6000, 9000 and 4000 are the new twin denons- and very far removed from the older ones.
Basically they are e.
Very very unreliable with a mind of their own at times, picky about discs. Donyt even think about playing Mp3s on them as you cant really cue them properly, and they jump.
this is not just one unit- ive used several 4000s and 9000s over the past couple of years and they all have exactly the same problems!

yeah, I've used the 4000 before and it wasn't anythign special. But the 6000 actually looks improved. I was actually thinking about sellign off my two cdjs and picking up that to save on space.
