that's a shockingly incoherent post :) |

these threads get more and more pathetic everytime lol. There really is no need to slate the guy. Global Gathering 2004, perfect set, explorative of what he could do, made one error, and that was the needle skipping on the record. Meanwhile, Yoji Biomehanika a few tents away managed to completly bounce the needle of the vinly for .8 of a seconds worth of silence. Now thats an error.
Tiesto does use other peoples music, do people not know about DJing and music production? We have these things called riffs, and samples and loops as well as an array of other things....christ i dont even study music! As with Traffic, Sean Deason is credited as the riff came from his production called Psykofuk. Did anyone notice how in "Watching Cars Go By" by Felix Da Housecat there is the little 'hey hey hey' from "FireStarter" by the prodigy? OMFG Felix Da Housecat no longer produces his own music anymore!
Music is made by computer? OMFGoodGod! Did you know why bands record in recording studio's? They do this as they are deadly silent when music is not being played. So when they record, there is no extra sound. OMG, why do they do this? Well...you try editing or mixing down a track with reverb and the sound of birds in the background. Its much easier to add things on silence than it is with random noise in the background. DJ'ing by computer? Has anyone ever heared of Final Scratch? you plug your decks into a PC, select your music by your PC, and MANIPULATE the track tempo etc etc etc etc using your decks and mixer.....amazing program isnt it.
And Tiesto is cheese? So the first 15 times you hear PvD drop For An Angel is fun, but isnt it credited as being slightly cheesy for pvD to play it. Oh comon, even Ferry Corsten does it on purpose...Rock Your Body Rock? its cheesy as balls but us ravers love it, why? Because its fun and designed to be and it gets the crowd going. RYBR with 9,999 give or take a few people singing along happens to be quite an experiance. I see Armin as a cheeseJ to be honest. Radio show everyweek, trying to be popular? Armin wants what tiesto has ffs. Lets compare tiesto to some other cheesy DJ's....
Tiesto....vs Judge Jules
Tiesto....vs Fergie
Tiesto....vs Tim Deluxe
Tiesto....vs Pete Tong
4 other massive DJ's that leave a strong cheddary taste all over Tiesto.
I do beleive firmly, you cant slate another DJ unless you DJ yourself. At the end of the day, you get your set alongside Tiesto, and play first or after. I get a good feeling he's gonna fkin hammer you when it comes to it, so please, unless you know what your talking about, dont talk !

Let Mr.Long Rant explain the following?
1)Why does Tiesto not mix well anymore
if you have seen him live at least twice over the years, you understand that his mixing has suffered immensely, yes deejays make mistakes but you don't expect them to trainwreck often and up, unless your name is tall paul :haha:. Now Tiesto is pulling fader slams and has taken popstar to a new level. Some still love him, some have given up. I mean the man was great at one point but where he is now in your opinion, is up to you? |

| yeah well...being a good dj isn't about how long you hold a transition...it's about whether the dj can craft a good set. the only negative thing pertaining to mixing that would ruin the flow of a set is beats being out of alignmet (ing techno), everything else is basically what you prefer, a dj who mixes quickly or slowly, but a good set can be made either way. |

| Auranaut, if im not mistaken you said you like Perefect Silence and Zombie Nation. Doesn't that make you a 'Trancecracker'? |

| well tiesto lost it a while back because he used to flow a set well but now its 2 breakbeat tracks, 2 prog, 2 techno then trance but it does'nt flow. That's my biggest gripe about tiesto, no flow no more. |

You're probably right. If someone like myself played before, or after, him, he'd probably get more response. However, if we played the same set, recorded, and allowed people to listen, without knowing who was spinning on them, I'm convinced my set would be a whole lot better. Only way I could see it happening differently is if I was on a terribly off day (one's that hardly ever come around, that bad), and he was on his best game. He's just not a good technical dj, period. His name carries him now, based on the success he had in the past. I used to love him, but I'm not a huge fan anymore. |

Amen.
I love the guy, i know he can do better. i listen to his mixes and when i hear it slipping i sit there egging him on to touch the record back in time. :wtf:
I want him to prove himself again, i and many people know he can do better than his recent years. |

I concur with this statement. I also find he plays too many padded out synth tracks, like Traffic. I can call one of his productions, without having heard it, most times now. |

| im sorry but tiesto NEVER flowed in my book. |

im sure his mixing would be better if he had prerecorded the set (ie used pro-tools).
but its . |
