That one just came out over here on digital a week or two back.....what can i say, except it was totally e. They should just let it die since it gets pwned by Futurama and Family Guy.
I used to Love the simpsons, i still have loads of merchandise (watches, alarm clocks, games) and the dvds and vhs...but its just old...they really need to admit they have run out of ideas and stop making it...
And are there Still rumours of a movie coming out!?

I think matt groening didn't want to continue making the show, but FOX paid the simpsons cast/crew a huge amount to continue the show for this season.

Considering it's one of the only super-successful shows on FOX, I don't blame them. But despite the fact that I looooove the simpsons, I wish they would stop making new episodes... the show is pretty dead now.

Another one of it's downfalls is that it's becoming far too political. Also, nearly half of all new episodes are about religion. I pretty much stopped watching two or three years ago. Futurama was ten times better.

a sudden increase in celebrity cameos (and not like previous ones where it was their voice doing a character, but actually the person in the show).

If you watch the episode where they go to London, thats basically all that happens...just celebrity after celebrity.

Can't really give you a solid example as I don't really watch them anymore. I just seems that everytime I'm zapping channels and land on the simpsons, they're talking about god, christianity, or making some stupid stab at current american politicians.

Also they brought in what I consider the replacments for Troy McLure and Lyonal Hutz (err sp), in the business women with the blonde hair, who plays everything from a realtor to a TV agent, and not to mention the annoying guy version of her.

Lindesy Nagle, I believe, correct!
Time for a quote from when they were funny:

Lisa: `What do you produce: `
Lindsey: `Synergy. And books on how to cheat at bridge.`

They are too satricial now and the show isn't a huge recurring joke as it used to be. It's just a pile of stacked together loosely with a decent laugh here and there.

I would have liked to see the show end last year to save it's dignity, but alas It's not my decision, however I should sue Fox for making me watch the show every Sunday night now even though I know that they are going too suck..

the true test is lasting power. i seriously cant remember more than what 2 out of the last 10-15 episodes were about.

it went down hill when they started to make homer more stupid in every show (going on 6 seasons now). it was funny when he made the occasional stupid comment, but now hes like a in retard and it aint funny at all.

they could take futurama further, after all anything could happen in it since its the future. having said that i'd rather see it finish now rather than dragging it out for another 10 seasons.

long live family guy, south park, futurama

used to love the simpsons... as with everyone else. now the stuff sucks.

theres the political and jokes going along with the news... it used to be when the simpsons were just funny because they were funny... more.. "timeless" humor. now its not...

there used to be the star cameos that were good, or well casted, or fit in with the story, or just to voice a certain character.... one that comes to mind would be john lovitz... just cause.

but for a while, they've been using any and every celebrity just to get people to tune in. this can be seen A) when they started advertising episodes with those cameos in it(prior to the point where episodes started to suck, they rarely, if ever advertised any celebrities being in the episodes, right?), and B) (sinking even lower) when the cameo voices were only used for all of 5 seconds... where they had no bearing on the story at all.

and have you ever noticed that with the newer episodes, they drag jokes on waaay longer than they should. for instance, in family guy, where he hits his shin or something, and peter is like "tssss....ahhh..." about 10 times.... that was mildly amusing.

but with the simpsons... everything similar to that....the action repeats itself once... and then another 5 times too many.

thankfully, their contract is up in 2005.... hopefully, if they know whats good for em, they'll lay the simpsons to rest.

i really hope they just phase out the show, in standard FOX fashion... air a special each time new episodes would normally air, and eventually replace it with a different show. (think about it... when fox wants to get rid of something, thats how they do it)

a series finale show would just suck ass anyway.
