connecting cell phone to computer with serial cable

my friend gave me this serial cable to connect my phone to the pc. it's the crappy type with no cd or anything. I connected it to the pc and my phone and tried to browse using nokia pc suite, but it didn't work (no connection).
anyone know how I can get this thing to connect?
maybe download a driver or some program?

| when u install Nokia PCSuite, the software install its Nokia drivers on your computers, and they are used by PCSuite to connect your mobile phone, if u don't have these one, you computer won't connect your cell phone ;) |

sorry, I didn't get you.
I have pc suite installed and that's not enough. you mean I should look for the drivers separately?
this cable came with no cd or anything.
btw, my phone is 6230 if it matters |
