I dont know much about the micron, but this should work, anyone correct me if i make a mistake..
You should be able to connect the joystick port (DB15) on your sound card with a one of these cables http://www.pccables.com/05010.htm to the midi in on the micron.
Then contact the audio outs on the micron, to the line in- on your soundcard..
Now in the midi Settings Menu of fruity there should be a Midi Out selection, which has things like midi mapper.. pick whichever one your soundcard is.. say Creative AWE32 Midi - if you had a AWE32 for example and set the Port number to a number and remember it.. for example we will say 2 for this run through..
it doesnt matter what it is as long as nothing else shares it and dont use anything over port 16
Now find the setting in your micron to recive midi on port 2
Ok, now your micron should play whatever is in your piano roll on fruity..
Ok, now the rest of this is pinched from a post on another forum and I decided to leave it as its written as i think it explains it quite well...

in order to record audio from the synth you need to route the signal through fruity's mixer.
you do this by opening the mixer window. right at the bottom there is an IN and OUT. for example, assign the MIDI OUT plugin to FX1. the IN button should say '(none)'. click it and select the analog in on your soundcard. it should read something like: 'analog in 1 AWE32 [1] analog in 2 AWE32 [1]'
ok. the mixer is now receiving a signal from the synth and you should see the meters become active when you play some notes. you may notice now that it sounds like its chorusing too. like its playing twice. thats because it is. it is playing back through the audiophile mixer in your system tray and through fruity's mixer. for this reason, mute the audiophile mixer when recording via the mixer in fruity. dont forget to unmute it afterwards because you wont be able to hear anything in windows or any sound not from your synth for that matter.
note: the audio from the synth is delayed by however much your soundcard latency is. when you record or monitor make sure your latency is as LOW as possible. for this reason try using your ASIO drivers and keep it at less than 6 ms.
ok. onto recording. to record, arm the mixer by clicking the REC (disk icon) button in the bottom right hand corner of the mixer. save the wav file wherever you want. now. press record in the main fruity window and press play. a metronome will count you in and you are now recording live. you can either sequence the notes beforehand or play it live. when its finished press stop. you now have a recorded wav of the synth in action. after this you can put VST effects and post processing on it.
Hope that helps, and hope i havn't sent you down a wrong path! |
