Yeah, uhhh, I guess it should be no surprise that the ultra-commercial side of psytrance would appeal more to the regular trance crowds :) artists like AP and IM have kinda fallen off the radar deep in the psytrance scene itself... ALTHOUGH, he's got one amazing track that just came out - Alien vs the Cat's The Race... now that is excellent stuff! |
that song is mindblowing :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: |

psy trance may be the hardest style to mix with other styles of trance???
some stuff is really cool but there isnt much of it that i could ever play. |

Alien Project lost it long time ago, so I wouldn't advice listening to his stuff if you're looking for good psy. There is way better stuff out there. |
What he said. For good Alien Project stuff, check Aztechno Dream, Midnight Sun (Orig/GMS Remix) and the Crunchy Punch-album (collab with Jean Borelli). |

| The closing DJ for the night was some asian guy with longer hair. He only got to perform for about an hour to an hour and a half but he was very good too. Was wondering if anyone knows who he was? Maybe Knob, or something like that? Was awesome cuz he finished and everyone was like "ONE MORE! PLAY ONE MORE!" And then he ripped it up with one last song. Was ownage! |

I call BS on that - 4/4 music styles with linear structure are all a breeze to mix... as for finding the right material - one need only dig beyond the big trends to find material uniquely suited for trance/psy fusion. But that's just MHO as a psytrance DJ :) my "trance" collection consists of 80 records from the golden age of about 1998, hahaha... *cues Rodd-y-ler's Lifesigns* |

Just saw him last Saturday (Sunday morning actually) in NYC. All I can say is that I was completely blown away by the set and this was the first time I have ever really listened to psy trance. Incredible stuff and possibly one of my new favorite genres. I suggest anyone who has never listened to psy trance to listen to some of his stuff. :) |
WTF dude you are one lucky mofo!! I would have killed to have seen him but I'm 3000 miles away. His newer album Don't Worry, be Groovy kicks major ass. Defintely one of my top fav psy producers. |

Counterpoint.
In fact, there are few psytrance producers I would personally call 'genius' - and none of them would be those artists who create accessable dancefloor-oriented anthems, such as AP here. Koxbox, Hallucinogen, Juno Reactor, Double Dragon, Hux Flux, 12 Moons, Penta, Midi Miliz, Prometheus, X-Dream, and Torakka are a few artists I might extend that particular honour to... |
