Help buying my first DJ-pack

So I'm tired of mixing in Tractor DJ Studios. I've been doing it for quite some time now, and now I've decided to buy myself some vinyl-players and a mixer and try to make it in the DJ-business ;D

Now, my parents won't help me buy these things, and this is just a b*thc, so I gotta be cheap. And I've found some complete packages that are just that. Both numarks:

First contains (package's called "DJ IN A BOX V.6"):
2 x TT-1610
2 x Groove Tool pickups
2 x Numark slipmats
1 x DM950 mixer
1 x HF-125 headphones
The TT-1610's are not direct-driven and I've heard rumors...

Second ("BATTLE PAK V.4"):
2 x TT-1625
2 x Groove Tool pickups
2 x Numark slipmats
1 x DM950 mixer
1 x HF-125 headphones
This package is more expensive than the first, of which you're probably aware.

I won't afford these in a few months or so, but still.
I also want to buy vinyls at the same time, and I've found a webshop that sounds nice www.juno.co.uk Anybody had experience with them before?

So. Are the first pack worth to buy? considering it's not direct-driven. But I've heard it's strong just the same. Or should I go for the second, and more expensive?

Thanks in advance

everyone, including me, is going to tell you not to buy either of them.

the first package is out because its belt drive.

these packs, in general, are e. how much is the second dj in a box?

i bet you can get better stuff for the same price, or at least close.

you can get tt-200s NEW for $150/each.

gemini makes a cheap mixer thats a good budget mixer and it like $100.

even the sony mdr-v500 headphones are better then that for about $50.

you can also go used and get better equipment for the same money.

tell us your budget.

Hejssan,

First of all, there are numerous topics about this. The search -button is one of the best kept secret of TA. :stongue:

Now serioulsy, stay away from belt driven TTs. If you really have to buy cheap Numarks, try to save for something a bit better, like TT-200s. You are probably going to get lots of 'Buy Techs' -replies, but if you can't afford them then you just can't. It is advisable however to start with at least moderately good gear bc otherwise the Djing can feel like a bitch. You'll get tired and frustrated when things don't work.

You live in Sweden. That means you can get gear really affordably from Germany. The shipping is only like 20€ to scandinavia and the gear is moderately cheap also. Have you browsed through german shops like deejayladen.de, dj-technik.de and thomann.de

Hope it helped....

and btw, Finland is going to kick Swedens ass in WC icehockey. :stongue:

stay away from those packages, they stink and are not worth the price, dont know why they even sell them for that much money.

DJ IN A BOX v.6 = $299.95

2x Numark TT-200 = $299.98 (i never used them but i trust CosmoKid's word). Matter of the fact is even the TT-200's wont last forever, is there a way for you to save some more money? I got a Numark DXM03 for only $120 from Music123.com and this is one damn solid mixer for the money. I got the MDR-V500 headphones for only about $45 at Amazon. Now, these phones are pretty damn good as well for the money. aside from the mixer and headphones. turntables are a little different. you can really tell when u spin on crap of turntables with bad torque.

if you save up some money you can get one heck of a set up.
