So I moved into a new position at work with the hope to be doing something more interesting and exciting...beware what you wish for. Not only that it's more interesting and exciting but it's also 20 times more work!!!
I don't even have time to browse the boards anymore, this is an outrage!:whip: :whip: :whip:
Anyway...just thought I'd vent...gotta get back to work now :toothless
But seriously though...doesn't it usually seems that when it rains it pours? |

That's right...climbing up the corporate ladder...I guess I should have expected this right. On the positive side though I'm doing really well (so far) so the better impression I make the better are my chances to do something wicked when I graduate... |

| Sadly companies today often equate more responsibility to just doing more work. Being promoted typically means just working faster and doing more than the guy beside you as opposed to moving into a more challenging role. I was there. I got out. I didn't love the job enough to sacrifice that much more time at work (when I was already living there at the old job) and give up my life outside of the office. Making the big bucks didn't mean a whole lot to me when I had no time to spend it or enjoy it. Good luck to things calming down a bit for you. |

Were you spending weekends at the office too? If so then I understand...but living at the office during the weekdays (more so than your old job) with higher pay (increase of at least $5000 annual would make it worth it for me) means you got MORE DOUGH FOR TEH WEEKENDS!!!! :D:D:D |

My life was my job (pretty much ruined me).
Now my job is my life (pretty much saved me).
----
This is not to say that one can't have the desire for success or work towards goals and objectives (of success).
What it is saying however:
- if one does not maintain balance (real balance, not perceived balance) things can get pretty wicked (wicked in a bad way).
- it's important to always have true perspective. As much as it sometimes seems, life is not absolute (ever!). |

I can completely relate -- my portfolio keeps getting larger and larger (I seem to be somewhat more compotent then others apparently) I'm given so many other responsiblities that are even outside the scope of my job. Don't get me wrong I like it, but at times it's daunting and discouraging when it's not reflected in the pay. |
