I dont really know that much about the entire situation but I assume that those who sold the majority of the shares (likely to be the board or something right?) know what they are doing and wont sell their club to someone who doesnt know a thing about football and even is he doesnt; you then would expect him to let the current ppl continue how they are working and have a positive input into the club.
Why exactly are you guys so sure he'll get them relegated etc... ? |

The irish duo of mcganier and mcmanamus who held around a 29.1% share in the stock are not in it for emotional attatchments to the club. At the end of the day business takes precedence over everything else. Glazer has never been to a united game in his life and is in it solely because of his specualtion that the club will double in value over the next 10-15 years which is a far call since the club is now 500 million pounds in debt and new fifa rules in 2007 call for revoking the licence of clubs in huge amounts of debt that allow them to play in european competitions which could mean United banned from the champions league.
The current top management of the club especially current chairman David Gill were against Glazer taking over the club and now that he has complete control all the big people of the board have a sword over their heads and should fear for their jobs. However on a more positive note Glazer did not make his millions without applying his brains so I reckon there is some truth in what he beleives. I guess only time will tell and currently the United fans should hope for the best. |

hardly... one European Cup final in 35 years?
for all their domestic dominance here for the last 10/12 years, they are not the mythological giant of football they make out to be...
the only people who think Man U are the biggest club in the world are their own fans/staff, they're simply the most well marketted... |
We know we aren't the most successful club in the world, although we have been the most successful club in England since the Premiership began, and until Abramovich came along we were the richest too...when people say that we are the biggest club in the world what they mean is that we have the most fans. |

Regarding Glazer, what this takeover means is that true United fans like me are going to be paying more and more to watch a team which is having its soul taken away by some money grabbing yank. And what are we going to get for the extra money that we will be charged? Massive debt, a chairman who knows nothing about football and a very high chance that the club could go completely up like Leeds.
Off Glazer! |

| Does anyone see this as a good thing for spreading Premeirship and even European Football across America...? I mean, the only club I had ever heard of when I first really got interested in football in 94 when the world cup was over here were ManU.... no doubt that over here the teams that are most noticeable are Barca, ManU and Real Madrid, for me anyway, through jersey's and other merchandise.... maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way, but what if Glazer really spreads ManU across America as almost the first ambassador to America??? All I can think is, all ManU games on an American National television network in the coming years...? Maybe he's got something? Or maybe all you guys are right, and he's just a money hungry bastard... BUT HEY!!! The Lightning won the Stanley Cup the last time around and the Bucs won the Super Bowl in 2002??? So, he had some sort of a hand in that.... |

yeah but he's aready put them in over £500m debt, and he will no doubt have doubled ticket prices within a year or two, which makes him a ing arsewipe full stop.
if you aske me he's very silly, coz football clubs are not a good way to make money for yourself, especially if you need to clear £500m before seeing profit! |
