ok my thoughts on the night.
as a night out overall i had a good time.. was great hanging out with baz and also catching up with pple like jonny and marina and a bunch of others that i met for the first time at the TT event last week, i was ther for the majority of the night and was impressed by the sets in the main room throughout the night. the light /lazer show was very impressive
As an ANOT night though, espec compared to all the others i have been to, i would have to say i was quite dissapointed. There was a total lack of atmosphere for the majority of the night. Apart from ronski's set the dance floor was empty the entire night. Even during ronski's set the dance floor was really only about half full with plenty of space where ever you moved. as soon his set finished everybody either left or moved back to the rave room. which was a shame as karvan/condive, jayde/marishka played nice sets.
The crowd that was there was VERY differenet to any of the other ANOTS. i would say a large majority were from the rave scene and i really sensed a lack of appreciation for uplifting trance. Ronski speed had to work extreemly hard to keep them interested and by the end was resorting to classic anthems to keep the crowd responsive. This was a great shame because the fist half of his set was fresh and dynamic. i really think josh made a big mistake in marketing this event to that crowd though then again if he didn't then maybe there would have been even less people there. there would have been no more then 50-100 people on the dance floor for any of the locals sets.
Ronski's set in general was great.lots of fresh tracks. short sharp mixes kept the set flowing and showed a unique style in his set structure, changing the pace of the set many times thoughout the three hours. as i said earlier he had to work really hard to keep the punters interested but overall did a very good job. I must say i was a little dissapointed by the last 1/2 hour with him throwing in way too many anthems for my liking.. tracks such as southern sun and silence did nothing for the set and it seemed to me like he had been 'advised' to add such anthems into his set.
as for the entry fee i was very dissapointed that baz was denied the cheaper enrty as he even had black shoes on. while i understand they needed all the money they could get it just seemed very petty to deny cheap entry when it is clearly advertised and baz had gone to the effort (unlike most people there) to dress in one of the colors. |

My thoughts:
I enjoyed myself for the first part of the night. Ronski's set was great, Marina and Jonn'ys set was great too and was great hearing Keith's track although I felt very sick by that time!!!
Well I actually went home with a migraine, it happened so quickly too. The music was too loud!! I even had my earplugs but that didn't help.
I also think the atmosphere was not as good as previous ANOT, I didn't go to the last one at Space though so am not sure what it was like.
Good to see Baz, Dan and a few other familiar faces!
Also what was with the speakers in the 2nd room??? they were totally ed, I didn't care that much cause the music was not to my liking anyway, most of the people in that room didn't seem to notice anyway! |

I'm not going to say exactly what it was I was doing (or trying to) at the time ... but they could have just told me off, instead of going the search + be rude + pick on that person routine... :wtf: |
