I know there are alot of seasoned music listeners in here and you might be able to help me out.
I have a copy of an OLD school tape, (it's not really trance; it's more like old school jazzy dancy funky housey music. the mixing is VERY basic and so are the tracks. lots of piano, bass and beats, some synth, violins etc) and I NEED to know what artist it is so I can BUY it, because it's REALLY good music!
Here are how some of the songs go:
1. [female vocal] "It's just a jaaazzz thing, shooby dooby dooby dooby dooby dooby doo waaa. [black dude talking] it's just a jazz thing. [then he raps about raiding the mic and house and hip hop and jazz and r n b n soul etc "you either got or u just don't want it"]
2. another rapping song about 'the realm of the cats'
3. [Male Vocal distorted talking]
The warning
Phase One
The seed is planted when opposites attract
Can you dig it?
It creates the physical to create the physical.
Phase Two
The flower blossoms through what seems to be a concrete surface: i.e. greed, racism, insanity, physical and social handicaps.
These are the things that mold the flower.
Red rose or black rose, no in between.
Phase Three: The Judgement.
If it were to fall upon you today, which flower would you be? The red rose or the black rose?
This is the warning.
(no it's NOT Motorcycle!!!!!!!!!!!!!! trust me.)
4.[sample of MLK's speech]- "...to a beautiful symphony of brotherhood"
"love your enemy" blah blah
"yes my brother yes my brother"
5. male voice kinda distorted and wonky says "feel your physical body relaxing"
"you feel. you feel. you feel." [repeats a few times]
then goes on to repeat "space. time." (or maybe it's space town or space tune. Too distorted can't understand it.)
If I were to compare this to ANY group it would be something like US3 but a more old school version with NO saxophones.
HELP ME OUT PLEASE!

I have ID'd two tracks from this set:
1. Logic - "The Warning (Inner Mix)"
2. After Hours - "Waterfalls (3 A.M. Mix)"
It is NOT however, the Strictly Rhythm compilations, even though both these tracks appear together on Volume 1. It's some other DJ, some other mix, with the "It's just a jaaaaz thaaaang" song. |
