locate some native american bloodline in your genealogy.
alternatively, you can carve out a chunk of land, appeal to the UN or other international bodies for recognition, prepare to defend it when the US government comes for you and hope that other countries will recognize your sovereignty and offer support.
wesley snipes tried declaring the land around his georgia estate sovereign territory -- complete with a mini-police force -- for purposes of tax evasion, but the IRS and FBI quickly disabused him of any separatist notions. |
