REVIEW: Tall Paul @ Guv

Wow.. It has been almost 24 hours here and still no review post.. well I guess I will be the first one to start this then...
My night started off at the Board Wars where I met up with some of the TA's that made it out to Tall Paul as well... Jamie, Simon and I left board wars around 2:30am and made our way to Guv. Got to Guv and the place was just packed, awesome tunes playing and everyone was just bustin it. Meet up with all the other TA's that were already there up in front... everyone is just filled with so much energy feeding off one another. I was on such an energy high myself and all I could do was dance! I have never seen Tall Paul before.. I thought he was good but everyone who had seen him prior seemed to think he was better the last time he was out. Anyhow, so many good tracks were played but since I am so horrible at ID'ing tracks I can't tell ya any really :D
Last track I heard before leaving was the New Order mix.. wicked tune.. danced hard for those last 5 min and out the I went before any others came on that I really wanted to hear!
The crowd was alright last night although they did annoy me a little more than usual, but probably because I was sober and just couldn't deal with it.
As per usual, shoutouts to preppie chick, chanoa, Milos, missk, tatgirl, js, jem_hader, Karim(and friends) and mickmack and Andrea and Chris and Rodger (non-TA's).. I had a wicked time partying with you all.. so much energy from each of you which helped get me through the rest of the night.. good times had for sure!
Milos, it was good to see you out again.. totally didn't expect to see you there. When's the next party? hopefully we will see you out again soon!
Jem, it was a pleasure to finally meet you.. I had heard so much about you!
Preppie Chick, so we finally really got to party together! Can't wait for girls night out.. then we can have more of a chance to do the girl talk stuff and maybe plan our summer vacation :D
MissK, it was great to meet you as well.. you are soooo sweet! Hopefully I will see you out more often now!
Karim, didn't really get to see you too much last night, but it was fun as always.. and you brought a group of friends that had wicked energy levels too.. good job!
I know there were other TA's I met as well and if I forgot you I sincerely apologize now.. I met so many new TA's last night and just can't remember everybody, sorry!
anyhow, I think this review is long enough now.. and it is just after 3am and this girl finally needs to get some sleep. So I will leave you with just the pics of the night now.. good night!

FACK that girl...we be chatting now! LOL!!! Know that feeling about doubting when to leave out of fear of wanting to bust it to the next track!!!! Had that feeling when Dennis was on at Purple...SUCH disrespect for an AWESOME guy....SORRY DUDE!!!! Promise won't happen again....
...summer just begun so I will be joining you at least once a month on one of these downtown TO excursions of yours...can't wait! :) |

Dropped by for a lil bit...
Got there early (9:45PM), as I was already downtown most of the day.
Doors opened at around 10:30ish and it was VERY empty for awhile.
Chilled with a buddy and his wife in the little room near the bathrooms (don't remember what it's called).
The tunes were good right from the start. Stayed only 'till 12:45 or so, and then had to jet. By that time, the place was pretty packed. |

Got there around 4am with RICHELLE, as I have been corrected by Frank (not Rochelle). :p Quite packed and hot. < Future trips to the Guv this summer will probably be limited based on that alone. Only caught the last few mins of Tall Paul, but I only came for MO. General consensus was that I didn't miss much anyways. Found the TA crew and stayed put in that spot (too many to name). Nice to meet JayS (Karim's friend), and see Carney, Pet, Lucas & crew- folks I haven't seen much since they went to Miami. Forced myself to last til the end. While people were screaming "one more!" after the already 2 song encore, those of us WITH common sense were screaming "NO MORE! Let us go home!" :p Legs were ruined.

I have to admit that I had such an amazing night even though my attention was somewhere other than the music for most of the night;)
MagikB it was awsome partying with you!! You are as well a huge sweetie! Can't wait till the next time!
Jamie, Lars, Jay, Nate, Jenna, Andrea, Durafai, Simon, Petti and friend(sorry brain block)you guys are all the ! Always good times!
Karim and friends, what can I say??? AMAZING!

Great party !
Didn't really enjoy Tall Paul, though. Not sure how to describe what he was playing, I guess a mix of house and prog, with a little trance. The only really decent track that I heard in his set was G&D - Portobello.
Fortunately Guvernment has a resident DJ by the name of Mark Oliver, who has a strange habit of playing better than the headliners. Mark Oliver kicked ass ! Especially after 6AM when he started spinning trance.
Despite the fact that half the time the music wasn't all that, the party itself was awesome, and I had a great time !

I had a wicked time bustin it with all the TA's i met that night, i'm going to the doctor today to get new arms and legs put on. sorry i can't remember all you names, i wouldn't be the first i guess. I've had a perma smile since the party...for obvious reasons.
Deep Dish - Say Hello, finally got to hear it in the club after I've been playing it to death since the DD essential mix. Wicked song. I think that arms in the air pic of me and miss K was taken during say hello.
I have to say, I have the GREATEST group of friends. And I'm so glad SO MANY of them came out to party last night. SOLID turnout, and even had a new additions to the Hamilton crew Senan (My buddy Mike's friend from volleyball) and Milos (who's partied with me before but not yet with my crew). The rest of my friends, Pat, Mike, John(Js.), Andrea, James, Mike2, Owen, Sheena, and Brad. We were missing a bunch of people who were seriously missed. Nema, Stef, Emily, and Ryan (mindspin). Crazy story of the small world, Pett's buddy's girlfriend Nicole was my neighbour in res last year. Tell your buddy I wasn't trying to hit on her. I was just catching up.
Shoutouts to all the tranceaddicts in attendance. KATY (!!!), Jamie, Jenn, Larissa, Simon, Pett, Durafai (ilia), Nate, Luke, and Jay(PodiumPimp shoulda been your TA nickname). I'm forgetting some people's names but I definately don't forget you at the party.
Prolly one of the most intense unforgettable night at the guv. GREAT GREAT company. Just shows how much the people make the party, considering I had a blast and don't remember much of the music.
