hi guys !

I have an essay to make on this song, just wondering what main ideas this song conveys to you. I know the vocalist refers to "under the bridge" as where he took drugs. are there any more hidden messages in this song?

PLease help :D:D

The first couple of verses are about how even though he felt he didn't have a lot of friends at the time and so on, he felt strangely at home in LA, as if the city was looking after him or something. "Together we cry"... you know about LA, how much corruption and capitalism and so on is in it, maybe he means it's getting torn apart like how he feels.

On the high-pitched bit, "Under the bridge downtown, forgot about my love..." refers to a time when he was doing a lot of drugs and he had a lovely, great girlfriend, but he was so into the drugs that he forgot about her even though she really cared about him and was willing to be there for him despite his problems.

I guess that's the main hidden meanings.

i feel strangely connected to that band. :stongue:

*edit*

oh and the song is about moving to L.A. and not having anyone maybe? and maybe he felt very in tune w/ the streets..like the city is all he has...so he turns to drugs. or he's just remembering doing drugs under the bridge in L.A.

Slylee. I don't think I've ever seen you go into the inner depths of mind and analyze. Do you need a tylenol now? That had to be painful :stongue:

Another interesting fact is that the lyrics were originally a poem by Anthony Keidis and were never meant to be a song due to the poem being very personal.

just tempt slylee with some coke, Im sure he'd do anything for it, like writing an essay consisting of more than 2 paragraphs :D
