DIESELBOY
It has been a long road to the top for drum and bass DJ/Producer maverick Dieselboy. After years spent pushing the U.S. drum and bass scene forward and making a name for himself, itís easy to imagine that Dieselboy would want to step back and bask in his well earned success. But this is not the case, because for Dieselboy, it is the continual test that is the inspiration. Seeking out and approaching challenges head on, Dieselboy has taken it upon himself to tear down the walls that isolate music genres as well as expand the worldwide acceptance of drum and bass as a whole and American-produced dnb in particular. A part of the stateside electronic movement from the very beginning, Dieselboy is hailed as one of the 'Founding Fathers' of American drum and bass. His passion for the music and his rigorous touring and production schedules have earned him a slot in that upper pantheon of DJs able to perform to enthusiastic audiences the world over. From Hong Kong to Helsinki to Philadelphia, the UK's Knowledge Magazine declares, "Dieselboy has managed to build a fan base that rivals that of any rock star."
DARA
On arriving in the US from Ireland in 1994, Dara quickly established himself as one of the top DJs on the US scene. Now every weekend finds him spinning in different cities across the country. Since his first record release in 1995, Dara has produced a string of highly successful singles and remixes as well as his 1997 full-length debut "Halfway Home (sm-e communications) has been a huge critical and commercial success.
AK1200
Orlando, Florida-based AK1200 is unquestionably one of the United States top drum & bass DJ’s. His stellar mix CD’s on the Moonshine label, incessant touring, as well as remixes of critically acclaimed acts including Crystal Method, A Tribe Called Quest and Dub Pistols have all helped build AK1200 into one of the premier electronic acts.
MC J MESSINIAN
Born in Los Angeles, California and bounced around the country like a nomad eventually ending up in Philadelphia. He developed a love for MC’ing as a child from head-noddin’ to HipHop in oversized headphones and engaging in freestyle cyphers with other "staircase artists". His musical roots and influence range from Soul, Hip Hop, Latin percussion, Dancehall, and his mother Helena’s emotional piano and guitar sessions. Frequently went to parties to b-boy to breaks and tribal house with comrades and eventually fell in love with the raw snares and basslines of Drum and Bass music. In 1998, Messinian started experimenting in rhyming to different genres of music, and after becoming a resident MC at Club Space in Philadelphia, he eventually linked up with the members of the Substitution crew.

| although im not a huge drum&bass fan, i went to this show in charlotte, nc and it was a kickass party...lots of energy and people going nuts. of course, i went mainly for the closing trance set on the patio, but it was a great time all night long! |
