| Hi, I just bought a pair of shure m44-7 h cartridges and they are supposed to be broken-in correctly before they start working. My question is how do i break them in properly. I have the correct tone-arm and anti-skate setting all adjusted i just need to know how should i break it in correctly |

| i have never heard of breaking in carts, but if thats the case, i am sure they just mean to play your records. after a while they will be broken in. |

Breaking the carts in ive heard its just a way to let the cantilever loosen up for playing... Its not really needed but you can do it all the same.
The way i was told is apparrently the best, is to get a locked beats vinyl (like DJ swamps never ending breakbeats) and let it play over night... that should work it in properly...
Its up to you tho... I have only done it once and i didnt notice a great difference in anything. |

This is a no brainer.
Carts... you just plug them in and they are ready to go. You set up the counter weight... may require to faff around a little.
There is actually technically nothing on the cartridge that wouldn't be 'broken in' by normal use to my knowledge.
There is probably someone out there who can offer a wizzy explaination as to why one should do something but for the difference it would make to your spinning your time would be better spent checking your naval for excess fluff.
Cheers
