hi chaps,

I've just got hold of the new PvD set material from last weekend,
on his politics of dancing tour 2005 opener in frankfurt germany and an accompanying set at a local radio station einslive in germany.
This is amazing stuff. What does the community reckon to this material.
PvD has just been voted best German national DJ. Could this be the year where he becomes no.1 DJ in the world. He's got TPOD2 and a new album lined up.

Please feel to discuss. :-)

I've been listening to his Jahre Maximal from 13-05-05 and its quite a bit different to his 2004 stuff...
sounds a lot more melodic, less banging!

I'm not sure whether I like it more though...

The opener in Frankfurt is such a good set

the opener is a good set indeed,
shame pvd didn't make it to mayday 2005 ,
i was a bit confused about that, as he always told everybody how special the event was for him,

Actually this is the worst form I've seen from PvD for a long time. His sets are filled with either watered out, weak pap that he's spoken against many times, or useless, bland and just plain awful epic trance that gets on my nerves after 5 minutes. The apex of PvD's eness atm is that he signed Marcos - Summer Solstice to Vandit, a downright cheesefest of a tune with an even worse remix on the flip. I hope he gets his head straight soon.

Totally agree man.

I was really disappointed with his latest set and it didn't seem like the stle that i am used to hearing from him (at least in my opinion).

* Deep Dish - Say Hello (PVD Remix) = not very good

* This part was particularly strange to hear:
05. Whiteroom - Someday (Dub)
06. Kyau vs Albert - Falling Anywhere (PvD Rework)
07. White Water - The Unknown (PvD Rework)
08. Thomas Bronzwaer - Close Horizon
09. Lolo - Why (PvD Rework)
10. Tranquility Base - Getting Away (Leama & Moor Remix)
11. Yellow Blackbird - Superfly (Andy Moor Remix)

i've liked a lot of his newer sets. my styles and musical preferences keep changing, but i still love real melodic trance the most.. that an really edgy, techy prog house... mmmmm
