FYI....Those of you who use the GO train to commute pls read the following!
CN labour disruption will affect GO
GO Transit has major contracts with outside companies that are critical to our service. One of these companies is Canadian National Railway, which operates GO Trains on our Lakeshore West, Georgetown, Bradford, Richmond Hill, Stouffville, and Lakeshore East lines. We have just been notified that there could be a CN strike starting next Wednesday morning, May 18. If there is a strike, GO Transit will be affected, and we will have to cancel train service on all our lines except the Milton line (which is operated by Canadian Pacific Railway). Because of the unpredictable nature of labour negotiations, please be prepared with alternatives for your commute in case of a CN strike, such as carpooling or riding local transit to connect with the TTC. Please also be aware that we do not have enough GO Buses to handle the number of train passengers we carry in a network that is as large as ours.
All available buses will instead be used to feed priority areas such as TTC subway stations.
