Something utterly pointless to compare: Behringer DJX-700 vs Allen & Heath XONE:92

Hello.
Id just like to share my luck with you by doing a very meaningless comparasion between the A&H XONE:92 and the skanky Behringer DJX-700.
When i first started off i had a Numark 1001X (or something) mixer which was a two channel mixer with a crossfader, kill switches and three band
EQ. That was about it, it had a "transform effect" too but it was a bitch to use. Then i "upgraded" (or so i thought) to the much larger Behringer DJX-700
which had (dramatic drumroll here) BUILT-IN EFFECTS!
Turns out that, as many of you already know, the effects in the DJX-700 is locked to a certain beat which makes it sound like utter e.
The sound quality was.. well, okayish, the faders sucked because they were so loose, the faders didnt give any sound until i reached 6.5
on the scale of 10 anyways. The send & return was pointless because it would only activate when you pressed cue, build quality
was low (the front panel almost came off when i adjusted the position of the mixer itself) and so on. The list goes on.
So i felt i wanted to upgrade and was looking at the Denon DNX-1500 for a long time and the Ecler NUO5. I didnt wanna go for the DJM-600 because
its too old and ive read quite a few stories about the build quality, poor sound quality and what not. This might not be the case but i really didnt
wanna take a chance. The Ecler was removed from my dreams early, i think it
was because it was missing VU-meters, cant really remember. The Denon had to go because it felt like too much of a toy. I have a Denon DN-S5000
cdplayer and its fun but is too much toyish then a serious
tool for mixing plus that the DNX-1500 gets really hot.
So it was all up to the Allen & Heath XONE:92, which has been getting really good reviews and once i started reading up on it i realized that
it doesnt matter that it doesnt have any effects. Firstly, because i already have a EFX-500 so i dont need another set of echo and flanger.
Secondly, because it has filters. The filters are AWESOME! I can do almost anything i like with them, they are enormous. There isnt really
a good way to explain it other then, i promise, you can make ANYTHING sound good. I could problably drop one track at 130bpm and one at 90bpm and
with the filters make the transition sound good. Its that good!
The build quality is also superb, you can really feel it. Its sturdy and nothing on that mixer is going anywhere. The sound quality also is
just perfect, compared to the DJX-700, well, its humiliating to compare.
The DJX-700 has a more distinct sharp sound while the A&H has a warm and cosy sound which really brings out so much more in the music. Really.
I know this isnt much of a comparasion but if you own a DJX-700 and is wondering about switching to a A&H, go for it. :)
The rotary really gives it the edge it needs, atleast for my smooth progressive transitions. :)
Sorry for the long and very oddly formatted message, i just cant seem to get my messages to look the way i want to. |

yeah good point...
i had a DJM600.... not for long though :sadgreen:
but i thought it was GREAT!!!! though i have never used a Xone:92 but would like to, but since you already have an FX processor i guess the DJM600 is a little useless to you... |

my take on the comparison between behringer and Allen&Heath...
LMFAO!!!!!!!!
.. if I'm not mistaken, while I was on vacation in Bali,Indonesia, I noticed a pontoon-boat captain using a DJX700 as an anchor.
I'm in the market for a new mixer too, but I'm not sure I wanna spend the cash on the Xone92, considering I don't have to use it in a $10000+ club installation. How hot does the DNX1500 get?? it seems like the next best choice... it's all digital too, so you can expect heat buildup unless it's got heat-sinks. |

I completely disagree with the opinion here. You have all been blinded by the marketing propganda which makes behringer seems obselete. There are several things in the DJX which no DJ could ever dream about doing on the X92. Here are the top 5:
1) You can use it as a Boat anchor for your little banana leaf boat! (now come on, let me see you do that with an X92! the Eq just doesn't cut it underwater)
2) It gives you the distinction of being a complete idiot in the djing world, especially if you bought it at the Market Price or above (Yes, you can be famous with the DJX!).
3) It can divert side jokes away from your peanut-sized penis.
4) It is a legacy like Star wars. You can rest assured that your kids will be picked on at High school and labelled as "His daddy was a dx700 user! Kick him in the nuts!...." - May the force be with you
5) A mixer can display a man's personality and Chicks will always be aware of your 1 minute Joyrides (well i was holding back here, the djx usually doesn't last that long).
Need i say more... Don't mess with the DJX! :whip: |

I'm beginning to wish I'd kept my DJX....
(instead of selling it on ebay for £20 more than I paid for it new) |
