| So, my dad's friend had a spyware problem on his computer. I was asked to try and fix it. I decided the problem was so bad that the computer should just be formatted and a fresh copy of windows XP be installed. I wiped it and windows was reinstalled and lo and behold, the spyware was still there. Can anyone give me an explanation as to why the spyware was still there after the format and how I can get rid of it? |

when you install windows unplug the computer from the internet....install windows and a firewall. then connect it onto the internet.
Maybe your IP is stored with them and it scnas your ip every so often trying to exploit your machine. that sucks. |

you must not have done a true format or just reinstalled windows over the old copy. theres no way it would still be there after a real format. a real format erases everything.

make sure you include ALL the information you can think of. version of windows, type of computer, hardware specs, everything even if u dont think its relevant. they get real pissy if u leave that out |
